For Frigidaire Control Box Assembly (Part Number: OEM15529035)

Dray for Model Number Frigidaire FRS26F4CB0

The temperature on the Freezer side is reading ~10-15 Degrees F. But it appears to never go below "0". Its not going below 0. That's even if I leave it on setting "1","2", "3", or even the Factory setting. So I'm needing the temperature control AP2116225 because it's sticking? So knowing this, then I shouldn't need the AP2151626 at all. I just wanted to make sure before I placed the order. But, on the Frig side it will Freeze my water whether I put it on 1,2,3, or even the Factory Setting. The Frig is reading ~20 - 25 degrees F. But sometimes, it may take it a couple of days to start back freezing but it eventually will. Thanks,

Dray, it sounds more like an auto damper issue, it is probably sticking or ratchetting, and causing irratic temperatures. It's been substituted to the control box kit 5304482075 by the manufacturer. You also want to check and make sure, theres nothing redirecting or retarding the air flow in either compartment ( articles against the walls, or hanging over the racks, blocked air tunnels, etc.) Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Dray, This sounds like the temperature control 240383703 is sticking. This unit actually has two temperature controls. In order to know exactly which on is in failure, you need to take some temperatures inside the freezer compartment. If it is dropping way below zero, the freezer temperature control 5304496561 is failing. If not, the fresh food temperature is failing.

Sal for Model Number phsc39eess3

My freezer defrost system is not working. I'm trying to run test to see which part is bad? Can you help? On a blog I was told to check the adc board by pressing the light switch 5 times in 6 seconds. If the heater came on than the adc is bad. I could also test the defrost heater, terminating thermostat and cold control for continuity from the adc harness. I can't find the adc board. Is it the control box and if so where is it located. I don't want to change random parts.

Hi Sal. If the Adc control part # 5304482075 does not accept the forced defrost, then you need to replace it. The control board is in the upper Lt.side of the controls. It is almost at the very back where the damper control is. It is behind the cover going from the front to the back. Thank You.

Hello Viv. You will need to make sure the temperature control for the freezer, in the control box 5304482075 is located in the hole under the damper assembly. If no, it will not read correctly, and the temperature will not be right. Hope this helps.

Merrick Breck for Model Number FRS26RBBW1

I purchased the control box kit AP5176342 for my refrigerator Fridigaire model# FRS26RBBW1 because the damper was not working on my side by side refrigerator. Replacing the damper did not fix the problem so I was told the temperature control would be the next thing to replace. I decided to spend a little more and get everything new with the control box kit. This did not work either. The freezer side did not get cold enough and the blower ran constantly. On the refrigertor side the damper would stay open and not close. There were 2 things different on this control box. There was only 1 set of wires to the motor and the temp control had 2 connectors. My old control box has 2 connections to the motor and 3 connections to the temp control. Is this the correct control box kit? I following the instructions, putting the probe down the tube hole, making sure all connections were good and getting a good seal around the damper opening. Any help on this would really be appreciated. Thanks

1 Answer

Merrick, It sounds more like an air flow issue, than a control problem. Did you check for a proper frost pattern on the evaporator coils(even, cosistant frost on all the coils)or a slow running evaporator fan motor. You may have had a fualty damper motor assembly, but for your refrigerator, it is available as an individual part. I could not find your model number listed under the control box kit5304482075 and could explain why you're having a wiring issue, and have left over connectors. Good Luck and Thanks

Larry for Model Number FRS26HBBSB2

Frigidaire SXS FRS26HBBSB2 Original problem, refer side was freezing food. Replaced control box AP5176342. That solved the refrigerator side but the freezer would freeze and after a day or so would be cold but not freezing temp. Tech replaced freezer control AP2151626 said he was told by Frigidaire that some refer controls were installed on the freezer control side. Have you come across this problem? Same result after this part replaced. Replaced control box AP5176342 again same result. It appears that the freezer will freeze then it will be cold but food will be soft then it will freeze again. HELP!

1 Answer

Hello Larry. He needs to check and make sure the probe for the freezer is properly installed into the hole that goes from the refrigerator side into the freezer side. If not , it will cause the freezer to do as it is doing. The control box 5304482075 must be installed properly for the unit to cool properly. Hope this helps.

Hello Mike. Yes, if the unit is sticking in defrost, or not reading the correct temperature, the control box 5304482075 will repair the issue with the unit. Hope this helps.

George, the freezer temps you listed are a bit warm and a bit wide. You want an air temperature of 3 to 5 degrees F. You will want to check and make sure you have the temperature bulb from the new contrrol box installed properly in the freezer section of the fridge. Then check and make sure the evaporator fan runs at the proper speed, and does not run slow or fluctuates through the cooling cycle. Thanks and Good Luck
