Anna October 17, 2018 for Model Number Frigidaire up rite freezer Is my control panel bad if temp at 7 and temp is going up red lite says door ajar hi temp temp in freezer 30.8
1 Answer Anna, You would want to check to make sure that there is no issue with the door switch and also check for a defrost type of issue. If there is no defrost issue where the coils are completely impacted with ice then this would most likely be the control board that is the issue. Read More...
Joe September 18, 2018 for Model Number LFUH21F7LMO Freezer was given to me with no manual. I was told it was never actually used as a freezer, only for storing small items to keep rodents from getting to them. They said it was only plugged in twice just to see if it worked. Everything about the freezer looks and smells brand new which would back their story. It was given to me because it was in the way and they didn't need the storage anymore + it didn't seem to work anymore. I plug it in and find no lights inside(there is a bulb), doesn't come on, and the display only says 8C. Display will not respond to any inputs. What do you think the cure is? Thank you, Joe

Jimmy July 29, 2018 for Model Number LFFH21F7HWG Frigidaire Upright Freezer LFFH21F7HWG Noticed freezer was not freezing popsicles. temp was set at 0 but display reading 23 let run for another 24 hrs to see if it would go down. Temp went to 7 degrees but popsicles still not frozen. Emptied freezer and found the Evap Coils building up with ice all over. Unplugged and defrosted to clear ice. The heater, thermostat, compressor, compressor run relay and run capacitor all tested good. Tried to enter service mode to check thermistor on control panel by setting temp to 0 and holding up and down arrows for 5 seconds with no results. Tried for 10 seconds with no results. There is no longer an audible alarm for high temp or door adjar just the high temp reading in display. Unplugged for 5 minutes and plugged back in to try to get into service mode no luck. Bad control board? I cannot check the sealed system.
1 Answer Jimmy, If the thermostat and the heater both check ok then this issue would most likely be the control board not sending the unit into defrost mode. Read More...

Tim March 01, 2018 for Model Number LFFH21F7HWJ Hi, my Frigidaire upright freezer LFFH21F7HWJ power loss indicator is not working. I’ve shut off power, reset gfi, unplugged it, when power is restored, the display shows a 1 and goes back to my temp setting -2 but before it would default to 10. Is the electronic control bad or is there a reset option? Never had problems until now. Thanks!
1 Answer Tim, This issue would be a control board that is faulty and will be part number 297235200. Read More...
Dave February 12, 2018 for Model Number GLFH21F8HWC How do you remove the electronic control in order to replace it with a new one?
1 Answer Hello Dave, You will need to put a piece of electrical tape on the end of a paint scraper/putty knife to prevent scratching the enamel on the door and use this to pry the control from the door. The new one will simply snap into place. You should do this with power disconnected from the unit to prevent the possibility of an electrical shock. Read More...
Mary February 07, 2018 for Model Number FKFH21F7HWD My control panel is on the front door. Freezer works erratic at best.control panel not responding. When it was working a lot of frost would build up & the thaw & leak. It is almost 6 years old & I am wondering if it is worth repairing. Definitely not the product I had hoped it would be. How do I take off the front panel.
1 Answer Mary, It sounds likely that the issue will be a defrost issue. With the frosting issue you will want to remove the rear panel in the freezer and check for a even frost pattern. If the coils are impacted with ice then this is a defrost issue. You would want to test the defrost heater and defrost thermostat and if they are good then this will be a issue with the control board. If there is little to no frost then this will be a sealed system issue and will need to have a service provider to repair. Read More...
Dave January 29, 2018 for Model Number LFFH21F7HWB Freezer continuously runs,I have replaced the thermistor and defroster. Also the control board will not go into test mode? Freezer will go to the set temp but keeps running ? What do you suggest I do next?
1 Answer Dave, With this issue you will want to check to see if the evaporator is getting impacted with ice. If it is then test the defrost thermostat to make sure that it is good. If it is then this will be a control issue. If the coils are not impacted then the issue will most likely be a control issue not reading the thermistor properly. Read More...
Margo January 19, 2018 for Model Number FFH17F7HWC My Frigidaire freezer will only cool to a temperature of about 15 degrees. It has an electronic control panel on the door. I tried setting the temperature lower but that didn't work. While I was investigating this I noticed the up arrow for the temperature control doesn't work. Also, the temperature setting displays in Fahrenheit but the temperature displays in Celsius. I tried the control feature where you are supposed to be able to switch from F to C but that didn't work. It seems I obviously need a new control panel but do you think that will fix the problem with the temperature? And is installing the control panel as easy as other commenters say? I would like to avoid a repair bill if possible but I don't want to make the problem worse. Thanks!
1 Answer Margo, With the display not responding to the up key and changing from C and F then the board will be faulty. You will also want to check the evaporator coils to make sure that they are not impacted with ice. If they are then test the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat for continuity. If they check ok then the control board would be the issue. Read More...
