Charlene June 08, 2018 for Model Number GLER341AS2 Dryer squealing and also drum not turning with more than 2 wet bath towels or light laundry load. Replaced rear drive assembly and belt. Drum still won't turn unless a light load is in it and although it was initially quiet it is now making a scraping (as opposed to squealing) sound with a light thump. Is this most likely the drum glides and/or felt needing to be replaced?
1 Answer Hello Charlene, This can be caused by a failing motor assembly 131560100, a tub felt and/or glide 5303937182 5303937183 or two 137513300, or a bad idler pulley 131863007 and/or rear tub support assembly 5303281153. Read More...
Maria December 14, 2016 Replaced the drum bearing, the belt and made sure the dryer is level. Even with no clothes in it the dryer still makes a thumping noise. It sounds like there is a pair of sneakers in there.
1 Answer Hello Maria. You will need to check the idler and the blower wheel. Also, check the front support of the tub. Read More...

Jacob November 20, 2014 for Model Number FEQ1442ES1 The drum for my fridgidaire dryer seized up recently. When I took it apart I noticed that the felt seals and the glides on the drum had fused together. I recently purchased the felt seals and glides for a fridgidaire dryer.I was able to install them, but it still didn't fix my problem. Once again, the felts fused to the glides. I was able to separate them, but now it doesn't sound that smooth when it runs. I was just wondering if there was something I missed. If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.
1 Answer Hello Jacob. Anytime you replace the felt seals and glides, you should also replace the rear bearing kit 5303281153. It sounds like you need to order and replace the rear bearing kit in the unit. Read More...
Troy September 29, 2014 for Model Number GLER331AS2 Hello, I have a Frigidaire GLER331AS2. I ordered top and bottom felt guides, rear bearing kit, and a new belt. I installed all of the parts and still had trouble with clothes getting stuck between the drum and felt so I ordered the plastic drum guides and replaced them as well but I STILL have the same problem (though not near as bad). To my knowledge, I have replaced everything I can replace. Any suggestions? Thanks, Troy
1 Answer Troy, if you're sure all the parts were installed properly, and the drum opening isn't damaged or bent, check to make sure the dryer is level in both directions or slightly higher(1/4 in. or less) in the front. this will help place the articles in the center of the drum. Make sure the dryer isn't being overloaded (try 1/2 full or less with wet clothes). Then check the front panel and air duct to make sure the parts aren't "bowed' or bent and they're properly aligned and secured to the cabinet. Read More...
Db August 18, 2014 for Model Number FER641CFS0 We are having issues with our Frigidaire FER641CFS0 front load dryer. Items are getting caught between the drum glide and the felt seal and dragged around when the dryer is running. I noticed there is a larger gap along the bottom between the glide and felt seal and where I think items are getting caught. At this point I'm not sure what the problem might be - whether the felt seal should be replaced, or if the drum is pointing slight upwards to create the gap. I've done a bit of research and see there are the drum glides (which look ok to me), the felt seals (upper and lower), as well as the rear bearing kit that might all be related to this issue. Can you let me know your thoughts?
