The Gas Oven Ignitor is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire gas ranges and ovens. It uses electricity to generate a spark that ignites the burner flames for heating. To check if the ignitor is the issue, look inside the broiler oven while the oven is turned on. If the element is glowing a bright red, it's getting power. If not, it may not be getting enough power to ignite the gas and should be replaced.

Symptoms of a bad gas ignitor can include:

  • The oven or burners failing to ignite or stay lit consistently
  • Diminishing heating performance over time
  • Burners that intermittently ignite or go out

Causes stem from normal wear with extended use. The ignitor's ability to spark diminishes as parts degrade. No spark means no gas ignition.

This OEM replacement part is compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore brands.

Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Gas Oven Ignitor (Part Number: OEM13299717)

Hello Jason, If this unit has a thermostat, it or the selector switch would be the likely cause. If it has a digital clock assembly, you will need to test the temperature sensor for a resistance reading of 1090 ohms at 77° and you would add 2 ohms for every 1 degree of temperature increase. If it tests good, the control assembly would be the most likely cause. For a more detailed diagnosis, you will need to please post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Georgina, 25 minutes is a little longer than the average time of 15 minutes. This can be caused by elevation (elevation can impact heating), the temperature sensor 316490000 not registering properly (can be tested for 1091O of resistance at 75°F), or the main control 316650017 not properly activating the relays.

Matt, That resistance sounds like it would be correct but the best way to tell is to do a voltage test at the oven safety valve. You would want to test the terminals for the bake valve for 3.2 to 3.6 VAC and if there is proper power then the issue will be the oven safety valve. if there is no proper power then the issue will be a faulty igniter.

Jim, Yes the bake igniter installation will be the same as the Broil burner igniter.

Haydee, access the gas safety valve, turn the bake cycle on and with a multimeter, check for 3.2-3.6 VAC at the bake element connection on the safety valve.. If the proper voltage is there, you will need to replace the safety valve, if the voltage is not there, replace the oven igniter.
