The Control Board is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire refrigerators. This component serves as the brain of the appliance, managing and coordinating various functions such as temperature control, defrost cycles, and the operation of fans and compressors. A functional control board ensures the refrigerator maintains optimal performance and energy efficiency.

Control boards can fail due to power surges, electrical issues, or normal wear over time. A malfunctioning board can disrupt the refrigerator's functionality and impact its ability to preserve food effectively.

Symptoms of a bad control board include:

  • Inconsistent or incorrect temperatures in the refrigerator or freezer
  • Unresponsive controls or display panel issues
  • The refrigerator not cooling or running continuously
  • Error codes or unusual noises during operation

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Hello Dave, The main board 5303918502 is in full control of the defrost cycle. It is located under the front of the unit and is accessed by removing one screw at the front of it that secures it to the bottom of the unit. It will then drop down and can be pulled out of the slot in the back for service/replacement.

Andrew, The MCBE2UN part number is the manufacturer's "production" number. The 241577505 / 241577505 is the repair/service part number for the inverter kit. The part is in stock and available at this time, and will work in your refrigerator. Thanks,

AB, Once you have the refrigerator out away from the wall, unplug the power cord and remove the compressor compartment cover you can test the inverter. Reapply power to the refrigerator. Use your Multi meter or a good volt meter set on 300 volt AC to test the voltage going into the inverter from the product service cord. Do not disconnect the molex connector. Slide the probes from your meter along side the wires until you connect with the terminal itself. You should read 115 Volt AC + or - 10%. If less check service cord and supply voltage. Set your meter to DC on a scale as close to 10 Volt as available. Do not disconnect the molex connector. Slide the probes from your meter along side the wires until you connect with the terminal itself. You should read between 2 and 5 Volt DC. If voltage is outside the 2 to 5 Volt DC range replace the main control board. If the voltage checks good remove the inverter from the compressor by removing one screw at the bottom of the inverter that goes through the bracket welded to the compressor. Pull the inverter away from compressor. Use a small flatbladed screwdriver to remove the plug from the compressor terminals. Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance between the compressor terminals If the compressor checks good replace the Inverter. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Andy, I'm not sure if the connector can be plugged into the compressor incorrectly by design but when connected correctly the blue wire will connected to the bottom center terminal.

Jeff H for Model Number E23BC78ISS7

The two temperature LED display readings have faulty segments and I am not sure if they are displaying the right frig and freezer temps. My icemaker stop producing ice and my refrigerator section is not getting cold (50F)and shows a high temp warning. Freezer and custom temp drawer seem to be OK (15F and 35F) as monitored by external thermometer. I expect I have a control board problem that controls the refrigerator damper and LEDs. I understand that if the refrig temp is off the icemaker stops producing ice (ice tray not getting water). Do I need a new control board?

1 Answer

Jeff, You will want to check to make sure that there is not a defrost problem because the freezer temp should be at 0 degrees plus or minus 5 and since the refrigerator section is only getting to 50. If this is not the issue then you will want to test the temp sensors in the unit. If this checks ok then the control would be the issue.

Hello Jeff. You will need to check the thermistors and make sure they are good. If so, then you will need to check the control board on the unit. Also, make sure the condenser coils are clean on the unit.
