Blaine June 02, 2016 for Model Number WDSCLW2 The washer will not keep spinning. It will start then quit. The timer keeps going, the machine will start to spin again then quit. I just changed the belt did I maybe knock it off center? The lid switch is moving to lock it. I watched it lock. I could use some help...thanks..
1 Answer Blaine, You will want to run the unit with the front panel off and check to make sure that the motor, belt and pulley at the bottom of the shaft is turning when in the spin. If it is but the unit will not spin and stay spinning then it sounds like it could be a brake issue with the gearcase. Read More...

James March 22, 2016 for Model Number RTW4640YQ1 My Washer filled up and will not drain or spin. I have read all of the other posts I know lid switches go out but is mine out? The light on the panel says lid locked and the lid is locked. Further if I want to open the washer I have to hold the start button down for 3 seconds and the lock will disengage.. If the lock is working is it still the lid switch? If not what should I check next?
1 Answer James, With the unit not going into drain and spin, you will want to access the tech sheet in the control panel and put the unit into diagnostics and see if there is a error code stored. This issue sounds like it could be a faulty control board but the error code will direct you to the issue. Read More...
Tom December 04, 2015 for Model Number GLGT1031FS0 The washer will fill the water and start to wash. However it will not go to the final spin as it should. It only then drain and refill the water again. This will go on until I push the stop button on the washer. Would this be a lid switch or something else ? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Tom. It sounds like the timer 134049600 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. You will need to check the timer on the unit. Read More...
Bruce November 19, 2015 for Model Number Glet1041as1 The machine will not wash. It will pump, rinse and spin but will not go through the wash cycle.
1 Answer Bruce, With the unit not agitating this would most likely be a transmission that has failed. But you will also want to check to make sure that the motor is getting power when put into the agitation. If it is and the motor is spinning then the transmission is at fault. If the motor is not turning would be a timer issue. Read More...
Javier November 02, 2015 for Model Number WSM2700DAWWW Wash Machine: GE (FRigidaire made) laundry center. Current Issue: Motor not spinning on both directions. spin cycle works. agitating cycle doesn't work even with belt unhooked. The lid-lock switch is burned and while the switch part is intact, the locking lever is burned and doesn't work. Question: can the burned lid lock cause the motor to not function on agitator cycle but still work on spin cycle? Past issue: the tub seal was initially broken and the bearing and transmission got rusted and locked. So, we changed both transmission and tub seal kit. motor was getting wet too. Thank you very much!!
1 Answer Javier, The lid lock being bad would cause both agitation and spin to not work. This issue sounds more like a issue with the motor. Read More...
John September 03, 2015 for Model Number MWX445MBW0 The machine basically after any drain spin cycle, the tub just keeps spinning till it runs out of momentum. So for example after the wash spin cycle when it starts pouring water in for the rinse cycle it use to stop the tub, allowing me to open the lid and pour the fabric softener. But now the tub just keeps spinning while it’s filling for the rinse cycle which stops me from opening the lid until it completely stops spinning and unlocks the lid, which by that time it’s usually filled with its rinse water. I assume there is some sort of brake to stop it from spinning but I can’t find it anywhere on your website or online. Is there a brake pad? Or is there some other part I need to replace that will stop it from spinning between cycles?
1 Answer Hello John. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the transmission 134735700 is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Lauren June 12, 2015 for Model Number FWS1233FS1 My Frigidaire washer wont spin. I have to turn my washing machine to the spin cycle. The washer I won't go to the spin cycle automatic, I have to turn it to the spin cycle. when I turn to the spin cycle it makes a loud noise. I can still see the washing detergent all the clothes, and the clothes are still a little wet.
1 Answer Hello Lauren. You will need to check and see if the drain pump is good on the unit. As for the timer issue, you will need to replace the timer 134049600. If the pump is good, then you will need to replace the transmission 134737100 in the unit if the belt is good. Read More...
Leah March 18, 2015 My washer will not pump out the water or spin.I have tried a new timer but that's not the problem. The lid lock doesn't engage at the pump/spin point.Do you think it's the lid lock switch or the pump itself? I tried sticking a screw driver into the slot(top-loader) and pushing down the metal dingus at the bottom...nothing happens.
1 Answer Leah, The most likely cause for the information would be the lid lock switch assembly. To properly assist you we will need your model number to help you with this. Joe January 02, 2015 for Model Number GLWS1233AS2 My washer stops at the cycle of pumping out water. I checked the power to the pump and it did not have 120V. However, when I manually tab the lid mental lock and it's able to pump out water. I am not sure this is the lid lock switch or the timer issue. Would you advice how to check if the timer is working or not? Thanks Joe
1 Answer Joe, If the pump gets power when you manually tap on the door lock then the timer would not be the issue. This issue would be caused by either loose wiring at the door lock or the door lock is faulty. Read More...
