The Spark Module is an OEM part for Frigidaire gas ranges. It allows precise flame control for cooking. This module sends the necessary electrical currents to the igniters at each burner, which then spark to ignite the gas.

Causes of a bad spark module can include electrical failures, corrosion, or moisture damage, as well as wear and tear from normal use.

Symptoms of a bad Spark Module include:

  • Burners failing to ignite despite being turned on
  • Intermittent ignition or weak spark generation
  • Continuous clicking sounds from the burner area even after ignition
  • Unlit burners leading to gas smell, indicating incomplete combustion

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Kevin, Yes, you could have damaged the spark module 5304505695. You're lucky you didn't hurt yourself, this is a high voltage circuit. Next time remember to unplug the power cord first, and wait a few hours before plugging it back in to the outlet.

Hello Richard, The most common failure is the ignitor 5304534663. It's hard to tell for sure without a clamp on ampmeter TJCL1100, but the ignitor needs to turn almost white hot to open the safety valve and ignite. Orange isn't quite hot enough. The ignitor should pull between 3.2 to 3.6 amps of current to open the valve properly. Of course you should make sure gas is available to the unit. If the surface burners work, this is verification enough.

Hi Wilson. No, the spark module is for the top burners only. You need to check the oven sensor part # 5304497424. You need to see if it will ohm out between 1080-1,000 ohms. Move the wires as you check it, so if it is a open or shorted wire it will show up. Usually the oven sensor will bring up a F-3 code if defective. If the sensor is OK, then change the clock control part # 5303935102. Thank You.

Hello Debbie. You will need to test and see if there is 120 volts going to the igniter 5303935066. If so, and the igniter is not glowing, you will need to replace the igniter. If there is not 120 volts going to the igniter, you will need to replace the clock assembly 5304518661. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
