No Bake Element? for Model Number ffew2725psb

Hello..my mom has a ffew2725psb electric oven. My mom mentioned it heats unevenly. I took a look an noticed that there is no bake element. The manual says the bake element should be located at the bottom of the oven. Further, there are no stabs for bottom element? Whats the deal? The oven bakes, though unevenly. The broil element works and glows when in broil mode but does not glow when in bake mode. Where is the bake element? Thanks

NBE, This unit does have a bake element but it is a hidden bake element part number 318902502. To access the bake element to test it the unit will need to be removed from the wall and the bake element can be accessed from the rear of the unit. There will be a cover over it.

Kozbyro, You most likely have a weak or broken bake burner igniter 5304534663/316489400 Ignitor. It's probably a coincidence that it failed after the spill over. Remove the racks, oven bottom, and oven door. Program a bake temperature and start the oven. In 60 to 90 seconds, the ignitor should be glowing "white hot" and the burner should ignite. If the ignitor is glowing red or bright orange, it is weak and needs to be replaced.

Jane, With the bake and broil not working, the 2 parts that would most likely cause this issue would be the thermostat or the selector switch. The thermostat part number is 5303934039 which has been discontinued with no suitable replacement available. The selector switch is part number 5308012561.

Hello last night I was making dinner for my family and when I opened the oven to check on the meal in the oven the element had a flame coming from it. I closed the door to get my oven mitts to remove the food and when I reopened the oven the flame had moved further up towards the center of the element. I immediately shut off the oven and the flame died down. Does this sound like a blown element or something more serious? I was going to buy another oven altogether because of the flames and did not realize how inexpensive it would be to just replace the element. Money is tight and hope this is an easy fix.

Julia for Model Number Frigidaire R30HW

Ancient electric range. Bake element fried. "Screw" connecting back plate of each terminal is NOT a Phillips. It looks like a very shallow head hexagonal screw. With limited tools available, I have tried and tried to loosen them, but I think it's all so old, they're stuck. Any ideas? Also, the only back element that popped up when I put in the model number (which of course, is obsolete) is AP2136868. Is this going to work at all, provided I can eventually get the old element out?

Julia, As for the screws it may be a hexagon type screw but unfortunately we do not know what size it would be. Also you may have to cut the screw out if it will not come out of the unit. As for the element, part number 5303051519 is showing to be the correct element for your unit.

Dani, Chances are you will need the bake element only. In a case as you described, the damage to the element is usually due to a grease or oil spill on the element, when removing or placing an article in the oven, and or "banging" the element with a pot or pan. If you have a test meter, you may want to check for 220-240 VAC across the wires to the damaged bake element. If you have the voltage, then the ERC/Clock, or thermostat circuits are proper and not damaged and you'll only need the element. If you have no voltage or less than 220 VAC to the element, then you'd have to presume the bake relay on the ERC, or the contacts inside the thermostat have failed because of the shorted element.
