The Moisture Sensor is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This essential component detects the moisture level in the dryer drum during a drying cycle. It plays a crucial role in determining the optimal drying time, preventing over-drying or under-drying of clothes.

A faulty moisture sensor can be caused by various factors. Over time, the sensor may become coated with lint or residue, affecting its accuracy. Additionally, electrical malfunctions or physical damage can lead to sensor failure.

Symptoms of a bad moisture sensor may include:

  • Clothes that are still damp or excessively dry after a drying cycle.
  • The dryer stops prematurely or runs for an extended period.
  • Error codes related to moisture detection.

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Jeffry Sandi Villalobos for Model Number 134786100

Hello, I have a dryer model FASE7074LA0 that works normal and starts to heat but at 12-15 minutes it turns off, after it goes off pulse Start and Cancel for codes and "E F2" appears, could you help me indicating what that code means and also explaining how I can test the Humidity Sensor 134786100 P.S. I installed the new Heater Element because the old one was open. Another important fact is that no matter how many times the dryer is turned off, I turn it on again and it turns on normally but at 12-15 minutes it turns off making the sound of "end of cycle" I remain attentive to your valuable help!

Jerry, This error is not a valid error but it would be recommended to check the venting of the dryer itself and check the venting to the outside of the home to make sure that it is not blocked. EF errors indicate this as a possibility. Also check the thermistors to ensure that they are good. One test for checking to see if venting is clean is disconnect the hose at the back of the dryer and run a load and see if the same symptoms occur or if they go away. if they remain it will likely be venting inside the unit and if it works normally the venting to the outside of the home would be the issue.

Jim, It is kind of strange for this error code to occur. The most likely cause for this will be a faulty main control board on the unit since the unit does heat.

Dick, No, It's not likely going to be the moisture sensor. If you have the E61 Error code this would indicate a "Heater relay failure" Check for short circuit across heater relay(s) L1 applied to heater relay output(s) with cycle stopped. Check for open circuit between L1 and heater relay connection(s) . If no wiring problems are found, replace the Main Control Board." If we had a proper model number, we could be more precise and accurate and advise you more efficiently. Thanks

Doug, Yes, with the error being the moisture sensor bar the correct part number is 134786100. You will want to check the wiring between the board and sensor to make sure that it is good also.

Hello David, There should be no problem with carefully removing the strings. You just want to make sure the sensor bars do not get bent up so they will catch in the load.

Hello Ray. The harness plugs into the 2 metal bars on the sensor. They are located on the bulkhead of the unit.

Jennifer for Model Number FASE7073LWD

Our Moisture Sensing bar has broken off because clothing (spaghetti straps) got stuck in it. We are ordering a new Sensing Bar. Can we install it ourselves or should we hire a professional? One side has a screw (this side did not break off) and the other side does not. It appears we need to attach wires again. Also, what will hold this other side down since there isn't a screw? Are we supposed to glue it? Im not sure how that end stays in place. Thanks for your help!

1 Answer

Jennifer, Yes you can install this part on your own without the help of a service technician. As for how to install it, remove the screw and lift up from that side. On the other side there is a tab that slides into a slot, the new one will slide into the slot and then rotate to where it will screw into place.

Lydell, The E64 error code is a heater open circuit error. Heating element or a wire in the circuit is damaged. Check the heater coils and connections for open circuits and replace heater and/or wiring and retest.
