The Moisture Sensor is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This essential component detects the moisture level in the dryer drum during a drying cycle. It plays a crucial role in determining the optimal drying time, preventing over-drying or under-drying of clothes.

A faulty moisture sensor can be caused by various factors. Over time, the sensor may become coated with lint or residue, affecting its accuracy. Additionally, electrical malfunctions or physical damage can lead to sensor failure.

Symptoms of a bad moisture sensor may include:

  • Clothes that are still damp or excessively dry after a drying cycle.
  • The dryer stops prematurely or runs for an extended period.
  • Error codes related to moisture detection.

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Tom J for Model Number GLGQ2152E

Dryer makes a noise when the drum is turning. Starts out like coins rattling in a jar or ball bearings grinding; this lasts for just a moment, then begins a sound like grinding or a pump as the drum turns. There is no burning smell or overheating that I can tell, and it dries clothes OK in the correct amount of time. I changed the rear bearing kit thinking that must be the problem, but the sound is still there. The belt looked OK. Wondering what to check or replace next.

Hello Tom, check the motor bearings by unhooking the belt and turn the motor shaft by hand, same with the idler arm pulley.

Hello Katelyn, without a model number we are going to give a general answer here, the moisture sensor bars are used by the dryer control to check for the moisture level of the clothes to determine how long to run the cycle on the Auto/Sensor dry cycle. The Time Dry cycle does not use the sensor bars, so you should be able to run the dryer on the Time Dry cycle.

I would check the vent first and then you would need to check the element for issues and to see if it is getting proper voltage.

Johnny, Unfortunately, the model number does not come up. Usually, you will find the model number on the inside of the dryer door. We will need that to correctly identify the part.

John, in accordance with the technical manual, the most likely issue is going to be with the timer control [WE04X27596] itself.
