Strugglingstove October 21, 2023 for Model Number 808608804 1 of the 4 burners on my 6 year old Frigidaire Gallery stove will not spark/click. I purchased a new Spark Module (808608804) and installed it today. Unfortunately this did not fix the problem... still no spark/click. So I cleaned the holes and everything around the orifice even though it was not even that dirty. Still no spark/click. Any ideas?
1 Answer StrugglingStove, You will want to test the ignition switches to make sure that they are good for continuity in the lite position. This will be the most likely cause for this issue. Read More...
Elizabeth October 15, 2023 for Model Number FGGF3059TFE Hi. My gas oven was working great on Friday. On Saturday, my oven would not preheat, but my broiler worked. The stove burners are all working correctly. I'm thinking its the oven igniter, but not sure if I also need the spark module. I've replaced the igniter a couple of times on a previous stove we owned, so I kinda know the routine. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Seems odd the boiler works perfectly. Thank you.
1 Answer Elizabeth, the ignitor 5304506545 would be the most likely cause of failure. To identify if it is, the ignitor would need to be tested for 120VAC when the range is on but the gas supply is turned off. If there is voltage present and the ignitor does not glow, it has failed and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Jerome October 20, 2022 for Model Number Frigidaire part #808608804 Can you provide a wiring diagram for this spark module? I installed it as a replacement for 3162624404 and all the igniters are sparking.
1 Answer Jerome, All the igniters should spark when you turn on one of the burners. This is a safety measure. Read More...
Michael March 15, 2021 for Model Number 790.71 403702 I have a question. The model number shows the module that comes up on the search. I took the panel off the back and it not the one that comes up. It has about a 4 inch red module that snaps in to the side of the frame. The number on the module is BK 50064.51 and the number below it is 318079001. Please send me a link to the page that has the correct module for my stove. And I also pulled the red wire to the module (should have pulled the ground.) It arced to the range housing with a intense arc. Now there is no voltage to the red wire. What did I burn up? Mike W. Kamiah Id
1 Answer Hello Michael, the manufacturer's service replacement spark module for your model is (808608804) 808608804, due to the short circuit you will also need the ignition switch and wire harness assembly part (316219009) 316219009. Read More...
Fred July 14, 2020 for Model Number FGGF3036TFA I was using 2 burners on the stove for some time cooking then my rear igniter started sparking and would not stop even though I did not touch the control for that burner. Shut power off then back on and the same igniter stay on clicking. Does this sound like the ignition module?
1 Answer Hello Fred, one of the igniter switches is faulty, it is part of the igniter switch/harness assembly which supplies power for the spark module to function. Read More...
Kenmore 79074403995 February 06, 2019 for Model Number 79074403995 My dual fuel range sparks and fires up for the middle and the two right burners. The two left burners do not light up but needs a lighter. Do I need a new spark module? If so I found out that 318079000 is no longer manufactured. Also heard that 318079001 is its replacement though I am not sure since the module looks different. Please help. Thanks.
1 Answer Kenmore, You will want to check to make sure that the ignition switches are good by doing a continuity test on them in the light position. If this checks ok then check the igniter to make sure that there is no cracks in the insulation. If the igniter is good then the spark module would be the most likely cause for this issue. Unfortunately the spark module 318079000 has been discontinued with no suitable replacement available. Read More...
Tim January 26, 2019 How or where can I test the Range harness on my Frigidaire FGGF3059TFA? Also how does the Oven and / or Broiler Igniter work? If the Oven gets 120 volts from the Yellow,(Y3), from the control board to engage it, does the Igniter shut itself off after the burner fires even though it is still being fed 120v in order to keep the Oven valve open while baking? This would be different from the Range which will continue to try to ignite after the the burner fires as long as any control is in the Ignite position until you turn past that position, correct?
1 Answer Tim, A continuity test is all you can test on a harness. The igniter stays glowing the whole broil or bake cycle unless its a direct spark ignition system. Your igniter can glow but not draw enough amps to open the gas valve. You need 3.2 to 3.6 amp draw at the gas valve for the gas to flow. Read More...
Tim Kay January 20, 2019 Should the Yellow wire(Y-3) on the Frigidaire FGGF3059TFA Range control board.continue to send 120v to the igniter even after igintion in order to keep the oven valve open for the entire baking time? Does all of this also apply to the Blue wire(BL-3) while in Broil mode? Also, is the Range Igniting system separate from the Control board? It seems they share only incoming voltage, 120v on the Black wire,(B-1). Both B-1s have continuous 120v at the control board but I have not checked the Range Harness yet. What might cause both of these systems to fail at the same time? Could a bad control board keep the Range igniters from engaging? Thank you again for all the help, Great site! Bookmarked!
1 Answer Tim Kay, The control board controls the oven and the surface system is indeed separate and is controlled by spark switches, igniters and a spark module. When the bake or broil is turned on, you will read 120 volts at the igniter the entire time it is energized. You can check the safety valve whenever the bake or broil igniter is turned on to see if the safety valve is weak or if the igniter is weak. Turn the oven to bake, check for VAC at the yellow to white wire, you should read 3.2-3.6 volts. If the voltage is there and the valve does not open, replace the safety valve, 316031501, if the voltage is not correct, replace the igniter, it is weak. Read More...
Tim Kay January 16, 2019 Just a follow up to Frigidaire FGGF3059TFA Range. I did not get voltage at the the yellow wire,(it seems to be Y3 on my schematic), and it does show it goes to the oven igniter. I suppose I can check the Broiler the same way. I'm not sure how to test the stove top. Does that even matter, if the board doesn't sent 120v to the oven is it unlikely to send it to either of the other two. Is it possible something else could cause all 3 of my igniter circuits at once. This Range of course is just over a year old. Are these boards prone to failures in the igniter output. One more thing, where is my range top igniter located? Thank you very much for your help
1 Answer Tim, take your multimeter, turn the oven to bake, check for 120 volts coming out of the yellow wire at the control board. If you do not get 120 volts, the control board is defective. If you get 120 volts, go to the safety valve and check for voltage from the yellow wire to the white wire, you should read 3.2-3.6 volts AC. If the voltage is there and the oven valve will not open up to release the gas, replace the safety valve. If the voltage is not within the proper range, replace the weak oven igniter. On the top, all the igniters should spark at the same time when any valve is turned on. If they do not spark, replace the spark module, 808608804, it is located under the top of the range, just follow the igniter wires. Read More...
Tim January 16, 2019 My Frigidaire FGGF3059TFA range igniters have all, (range, oven and broiler), suddenly stopped working. The clock and it's functions all seem to be working. I took off the back and can not find an igniter to check. Certainly not anything that looks like the part that seems to show up most times I look it up.
1 Answer Tim, the bake and broil igniters are going to be located directly on the burners. You should be able to see two wire connectors each with two white wires following the burners. Those connections go to the bake and broil igniters. Another item you will want to test is the control. When the unit is turned on to bake, the control should send 120v AC through the yellow wire to the bake igniter. If it does not, then you have a bad control 5304509230. If the control is sending out the voltage, then your igniters are the most likely issue. The broil igniter 5304506545 and the bake igniter 316489403 would then need to be replaced on verification of proper voltage supply to them. Read More...
