John January 15, 2019 for Model Number FGID2466QF2A I just cleaned out my vent assembly I can't figure out where the spring inside the vent assembly belongs?
1 Answer John, the spring is going to be a part of the door hinge assembly. It attaches to the back of the frame under the unit. You should have a rope with two plastic ends. The end with the loop attaches to the spring and the end that has a 45 degree angle attaches to the door hinge by looping around the two pulley wheels and hooking onto the end of that door bracket. John January 15, 2019 for Model Number FGID2466QF2A I cleaned out the vent assembly but I can't figure out where the spring belongs?
1 Answer John, the spring is a part of the door hinge support. The spring will attach to the frame of the dishwasher at the back and then you will have a door cable running from the hinge of the door that you would need to attach to the spring. Read More...
1 Answer Stu, the vent on a dishwasher is used to remove humidity from inside the tub when it is going through a dry cycle. Read More...
Jeff December 16, 2015 for Model Number PLD4555RFC0 I am receiving a code of ro on my dishwasher, but cannot find this code listed in my manual or online. I replaced the circulation motor due to a noise problem and the unit worked fine for 4 days but then started flashing the ro code. Basically, on any cycle, the unit begins filling and then about 10 seconds into the cycle flashes the ro code and stays frozen in that place until I cancel the cycle and I can hear the water drain. Any ideas?
1 Answer Jeff, Looking at the tech sheet, there is not a RO error code that should come up on this unit. This would be considered an erroneous code and would most likely be a control board issue. Read More...
Jacob April 24, 2015 I tried replacing both the fan and control board.. after neither worked i started playing with the wire to the fan. I noticed that with the fan disconnected, the dishwasher (while showing error code) would try to start again after wiggling the plastic connector that plugs into the fan assembly. my final diagnosis is that one of the wires in the connector is loose. My question is if there is a way to purchase just the plastic connector for the wires?
Sarah December 04, 2014 for Model Number FGHD2433KF1 I have been getting a UO error, so have taken vent off and cleaned it, but I'm still getting the error. When I start a cycle the vent unit makes a clicking sound and then the error message comes up. Do you think from these symptoms that I need to replace the vent unit? I have also read that it could be the circuit board. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Sarah, If the vent is not closing, the issue could be the vent assembly, the harness, or the control 5304514670. This problem is usually due to a bad vent assembly 154784401. Read More...
Ken W September 08, 2013 for Model Number Fridgidaire aquaserve 4000 I have read the questions/answers from other consumers and found them helpful. I took the vent/fan assembly off and am noticing the vent is moving up and down, not staying open or closed. After it goes through this cycle is when I get the ER uo error. The spring is good, I cleaned the hard water that was on the gasket and everything else in there was clean. Can you shed any light on what else I could try?
1 Answer Ken, The UO error code is a vent open error. While in wash cycle, Main Control Board does not receive signal from vent assembly that vent plunger is closed. Plunger status is sensed with optical sensor in vent assembly. Check wiring between vent assembly and Main Control Board. If wiring correct, replace vent assembly. If error still exist, replace Main Control Board. The ER error is a membrane switch failure: Main Control Board has detected a stuck key or a key pressed for more than one minute. Check connection from keypad to Main Control Board. If correct, replace keypad. If error still exist, replace Main Control Board. (Note: washing, drying, and clean s may appear in display when error code is present) Read More...
Mt August 30, 2013 for Model Number FDB4315LFSO I'm also getting the vent open error. I opened the vent assembly to clean out the hard water build-up. The spring is good, as are other areas. The only thing I lack in putting it back together to test it, before having to replace it entirely, is arranging the fan itself back in place. Is it meant to blow in, or out? Which way it was facing is the one thing I didn't seem to memorize when taking it apart.
1 Answer MT, The blower assembly would sit with the black round hole in it on the tub of the unit and the flat vented part out. Read More...
J March 25, 2013 for Model Number fdbb4365fco My dishwasher model fdbb4365fco is displaying an error of UF. After researching the internet I think that it could possible be caused by a clog. Can you please tell me where the vent is located and how to clear the clog? Also is there anything else that may be causing this error? Thank you.
1 Answer J, The UF error indicates that the fan is not running. While in drying cycle the main control board is not sensing the vent fan motor rotation a the correct speed. Check the wiring between vent assembly and main control board. If the wiring checks ok replace the vent assembly and if the error still occurs then replace main control board. The vent 5304467317 is on the outside of the tub assembly. Read More...
James M July 29, 2012 for Model Number PLD4555RFC0 how do you remove the wire harness from the machine. I dont know what needs to be squeezed in to remove connection
1 Answer James, The "flat" 5 pin connector attaches to the vent assembly. In most cases, this style connector has a "locking tab" that keeps it attached to the control. You press down, or in on the tab closest to the wiring and pull out on the harness and connector. The other end of the harness has a "molex" or "multiplug" connector. These connectors are "keyed" and will only fit and seat in one way. These connectors often have a "locking tabs" mounted on the sides of the connector, and you have to press in on the tabs closest to the wire harness, and pull out on the plastic connector. Another "trick" is to press the connectors together, then press on the "locking tab" release, and separate the connectors. Thanks Read More...
