Remove the two ¼-in. hex screws securing the front of the cover/lid assembly to the cabinet. Pull the top cover toward you while lifting up the front edge to release the side catches. With front panel off, and washer fully loaded with clothes and water, swinging the basket from side to side is quiet, but swinging front to back produces a scraping sound coming from the back behind the basket.
