Rabbitschomb for Model Number PSS27NHNbb

My Fridge Model # PSS27NHNBB stop cooling the fridge and freezing the freezer side, I took the mother board out and seen that it was damaged on the backside, like something had shorted out. So I bought a new mother board (AP4436216). I put the board in. The fridge cooled and the freezer got cold enough to freeze, but it would not get to the correct temp. on the temp. display on the fridge side. Also my ice maker no longer works. So I called your service dept. and they sent me a new mother board. I put the new one in and I have the same problem. Fridge gets to about 30 degrees (but nothing freezes) and the freezer keeps things frozen, but still no ice and the temperature is not correct. I can't believe that my ice maker and the temperature display and both the fridge and freezer stopped working all at the same time. I have also taken ice maker out and cleaned it, did not help. Also light on ice maker blinks instead of staying on. Thank you.

Rabbitschomb, With the issue that you are having, you will want to replace the icemaker. The light on flashing on the icemaker indicates this especially since the control board has been replaced. For the issue with the temp not being correct you will want to check the thermistor in unit to make sure that it is good.

John for Model Number PIR23MGTE

ACTUAL MODEL INSIDE FRIDGE: GE Profile Arctica side by side. Model PIR23MGTE SN: AM430228 - manufactured in 2007 BUT Cannot find this model..some searches show that the "newer" model number may be PSS25MGNAWW or PSC23SGMBS . Not cooling properly -- too warm. Cannot reset, temp/ controls not responding and display showing : "HRS " code. The Freezer has frost and is cooling , so we are keeping things in the freezer instead ( not freezing but just keeping things cool - 5 degrees Celcius or so ). Anyhow, it looks like I may need to replace the main control board , but I need someone to please verify if I have the right part number for the main control board ( I cant crosscheck the actual fridge model number as it does not seem to exist ! :- ) ) Looks like I need this main control board: AP4436216 http://www.appliancepartspros.com/ge-main-control-board-wr55x10942-ap4436216.html SOMEONE please confirm that I'm on the right path , and THANK YOU VERY MUCH

John, We cannot recommend you install the WR55X10942C control board. That control board is designed to operate on 120 VAV 60 Hz. We cannot verify the model number you supplied, even in the manufacturers parts and service library, or anywhere else on the internet or our suppliers. We would have to presume that this model number is an "export" model or produced by GE Corp. or in a different country and designed to operate on 230 VAC 50 Hz. The control boards would not be interchangeable. The control board should have a production tag attached to it, and that tag should contain a manufacturers part number. you may want to write down the numbers on the tag and see if you can cross reference the part number.

Rabbitschomb for Model Number PSS27NHNABB

I bought a new mother board wr55x10942, the old shorted out. I put the new board in and it works but, the temperature in both the freezer and the refrigerator will not go to requested or set temperature setting. Fridge set 37 degrees as sticker recommends fridge only gets to 27 degrees, but nothing is freezing. Freezer is set to zero but only gets to 2 degrees also but same scenario, but things freeze in freezer. Also ice maker will not make ice, but water dispenser gives water when desired.

RabbitSchomb, You will want to check to see if the thermistors are good on the unit but with the temp getting to 27 in the fridge you will also want to check to make sure that the damper is not broken. If broken will need replaced. As for the icemaker not working then you will want to check to make sure that there is water getting into the icemaker and if there is not then it will likely be a water valve issue.

Victory, You will want to remove the kickplate and disconnect the tubing at the corner of the door. You will need a small towel and you will want to push the dispenser lever for water to see if water comes from the tube that comes from under the refrigerator. If there is water that comes from the tube when you push the lever then this would be a frozen water line in the door. This would require the door to be replaced. If no water comes out then the water valve will be the issue.

Hi, we have a GE side by side refrigerator model #PSC23SSNASS. The fridge and freezer are working fine, except for the bottom drawer in the fridge. It has special functions controlled by a panel at the top of the fridge. These include express cool, special temperature settings for meat, produce and citrus and lastly a handy express thaw setting. All good except now it seems stuck on the express thaw mode. I press the button until all the lights are off and then shut the door, and when you open the door again it's set to 3.5 lbs express thaw and the drawer temp is 51 or 52 degrees. Even if you set one of the other modes it defaults back to this. What part do we need to replace to fix this? Thanks in advance.
