Harvey November 17, 2021 for Model Number ZFSB26DRISS The heater in the custom cool unit that controls the bottom tray in the refrigerator failed "ON". Refrigerator temp went over 100 degrees overnight (butter liquified). Question is "does the main control board provide power and operation to the custom cool assembly"? GE monogram ZFSB26DRI.
1 Answer Harvey, Thanks for the question!!! Yes, the heater is controlled by the main control board. Read More...
Scott November 07, 2021 for Model Number GSS25WGPHBB Good morning, Every hour or so, clicking will start around the control board (every 2 seconds) and the condenser fan blade will move for a second, stop and repeat. This lasts for 10-20 minutes then everything will start running ok again. I have unplugged to reset and it has remained the same. Everything seems to be cooling just fine. Would this be only a control board issue or something with the fan? Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Scott, based on the information provided, it sounds like the relay in the main control WR55X10942C to the condenser fan is weakening and is taking multiple attempts to close fully. Read More...
Kat October 30, 2021 for Model Number GDS20SBSASS I'm hearing a clicking sound and the fan just go on and off, is Mother Board the main issue? Is this the right part for GE GDS20SBSASS?
1 Answer Kat, if the main control WR55X10942C sends intermittent voltage to the fan motor, the main control would be the most likely failure. Read More...
Jjtpm October 24, 2021 for Model Number PSS25NGMD CC The Control Board display inside the refrigerator doesn’t function or display until I turn off the breaker to do a reset. Then it will function for a short time, The freezer and refrigerator temps stay ok. Is this a display board problem or control board problem? How can I test ?
1 Answer JJTPM, the temperature control can be tested for 12VDC from the red wire to the black wire during the state of failure. If there is voltage, the board assembly WR49X10095 has failed. Read More...
Grant October 20, 2021 for Model Number GSL25JFPEBS Fridge had been getting noisy and stopped working last night. Nothing runs but light work inside. The water dispenser led blinks. I noticed a burnt resistor just below the fan output wiring harness. When the J2 fan output harness is unplugged and the unit powers the evap fan and condenser appear to work. Will this be the replacement or is there something else I should check first?
1 Answer Grant, Thanks for the question!!! This is the correct control board for your model and is all that should be needed. Read More...
Matt September 03, 2021 for Model Number GSHS6HGDBCSS Hello, I have been working to get my GE refrigerator working for the past few weeks. The issue that I am having is the temp is much colder at the bottom of the fridge and freezer section than the top. It is currently showing 9 degrees in the freezer and 54 degrees in the fridge. The evaporator fan is working when the unit is initially plugged in for a few minutes or the doors are left open for more than 3 minutes but it does not run otherwise. The condenser fan is still running all of the time I have replaced the defrost heater, defrost thermostat, evaporator fan, and thermoresistor in the freezer. I am thinking it is the main board but I am looking to see if there is a way to test it before making the large investment. Any help is appreciated.
1 Answer Matt, Based on the information, the main control board would be the issue and you can test it by checking to see if there is between 7 and 12 Vdc to the fan motor when the doors are closed and the fan should be running. If there is not then the issue will be the board. Read More...
Jane August 09, 2021 for Model Number PSI23MGMABB My fridge has an ongoing failure to defrost problem. I replaced the defrost heater, defrost thermostat and thermistor in June trying to cure the issue. Now two months later, the problem has returned, presumably because it took that long for the frost to completely choke up the unit again. I manually defrosted the whole mess and freezer & fridge temps have returned to normal. Does this sound like it must be a main control board problem? Before I order that expensive part, is there any way to detect if the replaced thermostat and heater are actually capable of working (in the unlikely event that you sold me a defective part, or that I somehow installed them incorrectly)? Thanks
1 Answer Jane, You can do a continuity test with a multimeter on the heater and thermostat to make sure that they are good. This issue would most likely be a faulty control board not allowing the unit to go into the defrost cycle. Read More...
Wally July 01, 2021 for Model Number PSS26NGSBWW replaced evaporator fan and unit is cooling fine .defrost cycle seems to be staying on to long as ice in icemaker freezes in a mound of ice in less than 24 hours. is this a motherboard issue or is there another sensor causing this . .motherboard about 8-9 years old. have drops of moisture freezing on bottom of icemaker.auger motor runs but does not turn auger. prob gears are stripped due to mound of ice.
1 Answer Hello Wally, This sounds more like either low water pressure to the unit from the home plumbing or a failing water inlet valve WR57X33326. Read More...
Craig June 30, 2021 for Model Number PSS26SGPASS Hello, I own an GE side by side refrigerator/freezer (Model PSS26SGPS SS). This unit was manufactured in June of 2015. The icemaker (Part No. WR30X10093) ceased to operate; no water would flow to the unit. I replaced it with a new icemaker unit (Part No. WR30X30972). After installing the new icemaker and plugging the refrigerator back into the power supply, water immediately flowed from the water solenoid valve to the icemaker to fill the tray; however, the water would not stop flowing and stared cascading from the cube tray down into the freezer. After testing it a couple of times I learned that the water would continue to flow when the icemaker switch was in the on position or the off position, so I then unplugged the icemaker electrical connector to stop the water flow. I then opened the cover panel on the back of the back of the refrigerator to look at the main control circuit board. It has a WR30X10942 board. I noticed that the ground wire from the board was not connected, it was just loose and bundled with other wires going to the various connector plugs. I then connected the ground wire to the back of the refrigerator at one of the cover screws. I then tried the icemaker again after reconnecting the electrical plug for the icemaker, the results were the same as before, water flowed whether the icemaker switch was on or off. I also noticed that the 9 pin plug connector at the board does not have a wire in the second position on the plug going to the circuit board. I would appreciate any help you could offer to solve this problem. Craig
1 Answer Craig, This issue would most likely be a faulty main control board since the icemaker is new. Read More...
Sherry April 30, 2021 for Model Number GE PFS22MISBWW Both the freezer and the fridge quit cooling completely. The control board temperature shows about 63 to 67 , the lights work, fan works ,sounds like the compressor is working. Is this a temperature probes or could this be the motherboard?
1 Answer Sherry, Check the evaporator frost pattern to see if there is a full frost pattern or very little frost. if there is only frost on the first couple rows then this will be a sealed system issue in which service would be needed to repair. Read More...
