The maual soap dispenser is not latching, so door remain open...dosen't seem to have any thing wrong with it that I can see. So does that mean I should replace whole dispenser and is that something that can be done simple or do I need to get a professional to replace it? In the meantime if the soap tablet is in the bottom of the dishwasher can my dishes still be cleaned? I do have the smart dispenser as well but I hear those can clog up your pipes...HELP! :)

Hello Sil, If the dispenser door will not latch then you would want to replace the dispenser assembly. In order to change out you would remove the screws around the inner door and lift the panel. Disconnect the wiring and remove the dispenser and replace with new. The dishes will still get clean with the tablet at the bottom but it is putting it in earlier than normal.
