Schahr01 November 30, 2014 for Model Number JVM1870WF001 Had an "instant off" situation. Suspected the main fuse as per reading the other questions here. Replaced it. The unit turned on. Was able to set the clock - That's about it. Once I started to heat something, 1 second in everything died again. Any thoughts on what components leading up to the fuse would cause it to blow? I don't suspect voltage/power issues as I'm not having issues anywhere else.
1 Answer Hello. You will need to check the door switches first on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Mari November 03, 2014 for Model Number JVM1860SF001 Our GE Profile spacesaver microwave does not heat the food and it sounds "different." It comes on, the lights work, turntable turns, but no heat. Is that the fuse or do I buy a new microwave?
1 Answer Mari, You would want to check the magnetron for less than 1 ohm of resistance. Also check the magnet on the magnetron for being cracked or broken. Check the diode to make sure that it is good. When reading one way should read open when checking for continuity and read closed if you switch the leads on the meter. Read More...
Bob S October 12, 2014 for Model Number Spacemaker XL Microwave Oven JVM1440 JVM1440WA001 Based on comments seen, I am pretty sure it is a fuse. It all of a sudden went dead. No clock, etc. How do you get to the fuse? On line diagram is inadequate. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Bob. Uninstall and remove the outer cover to access and replace the fuse. Read More...
Es September 29, 2014 for Model Number PVM1870SM3SS No power or display. Checked power at the receptacle and is ok. To replace the fuse do I need to uninstall the unit or can I access the fuse with the microwave in place?
1 Answer ES, You will want to pull the unit from the installation and check the cavity tco, hood tco and the ceramic fuse to make sure that they have continuity. If not then which ever one does not have continuity then replace the part. Read More...
Es September 29, 2014 for Model Number PVM1870SM3SS No display at all. I've ordered the fuse in the hopes that's all it is. How do I access the fuse in this model?
1 Answer Hello ES. Just remove the outer cover off the microwave to access and replace the fuse. Read More...
Linda September 25, 2014 for Model Number SCA1001HSS01 My oven's clock will not set.. We had a lightning storm.
1 Answer Hello Linda. If the display lights up, but the unit can not be set, you will need to replace the key pcb assembly WB27X10775 on the unit. Read More...
Joe August 26, 2014 for Model Number jum1740dm1ww I have ge model#jVm1740dm1ww microwave. Started by going off and waiting 30 seconds and then it would pop back on by itself, and now i have nothing. It is aroud 6 yrs old. Does this mean fuse went cause the on off period and then just blow.
1 Answer Joe, You will want to test the door switches on the unit as they may have gone out. This would be the most likely cause but if they check ok then you will want to test to see if there is 120 vac coming to the control board. If there is 120 vac there then the control board would be faulty and need to be replaced. Read More...
1 Answer Stephany, the fuse WB27X10928 is located in the front of the machine compartment, behind the touch panel and display. You need to remove power to the microwave, remove the top vent grille (two screws on top) then remove the screw that secures the control panel to the frame, and move the control panel out of the way. The fuse should be visible up near the top of the compartment mounted on the filter printed circuit board. Read More...
Eric August 21, 2014 for Model Number ZSC1001KSS The whole microwave shut off in mid-cooking session. I smelled a bit of smoke. Now it's just completely dead. Could it be that replacing the fuse (WB27X10388) would solve the problem? Are there more than one fuses in the 27" Monogram Advantium model?
1 Answer Hello Eric. There is just 1 fuse. You need to test the fuse. If bad, it could be the high voltage components blowing the fuse. You most likely have a "high voltage" side malfunction. Transformer, diode, magnetron, Capacitor. You will need to be extremely careful if you decide to test the components with a multi meter, Very high residual voltage is present, so make sure you remove power to the microwave and short across the terminals on the capacitor. The magnetron should have a reading of less than 1 ohm resistance across the two terminals, and an "open" circuit between each terminal and chassis ground. The diode/rectifier should have a resistance reading in one direction only, no resistance, or resistance in both directions indicate a faulty diode. The primary winding on the trans former should read approximately 450 Ohms resistance, the secondary winding should read 80 ohms resistance, and the filament transformer should read 100 ohms resistance. If all the readings are proper and in range, replace the magnetron. Read More...
Dave August 11, 2014 for Model Number JVM1540DNBB I put my Pyrex cup of water in the microwave and hit "4" as always. It ran for about five seconds, then it got a lot louder and the sound had a lower pitch, almost a growl. The light inside the microwave dimmed. All of this lasted about a second or two, then the whole thing went dark. No lights, no sound, nothing. Now it doesn't respond to any keypad commands, and the LCD is blank. I'd like to check the fuse as described in other forum entries. How do I access that fuse? Do I need to remove the microwave from its range-hood installation? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Dave. Yes, remove the microwave and remove the outer cover. If the fuse is bad, you will need a new diode WB27X10597 and magnetron WB27X10939 based on the information you provided. Read More...
