Walter A. April 07, 2018 for Model Number GE GSH25JFXN WW The freezer is cool but not cold enough to make ice. I also I hear a clicking noise every 3 to 5 minutes. This has been happening for about two weeks. It gets a little warm then cools down again. Now it does not seem to want to cool down correctly anymore.
Ang March 27, 2018 for Model Number GSL25JFXBLB The top portion of my freezer keeps getting frost built up. The frost will start building up on the top shelf/bottom of the ice tray and then slowly the frost will start to build up on the next shelf down. But I do not have any issues with frost at the bottom of the freezer. Any idea what could be causing this?
1 Answer Ang, With frost building up on the bottom of the ice bin then this will likely be caused by a ice door that is not closing all the way. Also would suggest to check the dispenser solenoid to make sure that the solenoid is not rusted. Read More...
C February 23, 2018 for Model Number GSH25SGPASS As indicated in previous questions by users I removed the back panel of the freezer and it was completely frozen over. I replaced the Defrost Limiter Thermostat and the unit worked great for about two weeks. I am now seeing frost build back up on the rear of the freezer section, again. Would the most common cause of this be the Defrost Heater Assembly instead of the Limiter? Trying to get the right part replaced this time so I'm not "rebuilding" a refrigerator. THANKS IN ADVANCE for your advice!!!
1 Answer C., The Defrost Limiter Thermostat, is rated at 140 dgrs.F. and doesn't fail all that often. You should check the evaporator thermistor WR55X10025, and wiring for loose connections and the heater for proper wire connections and any "white" spots on the inside of the glass tube. The more common issue for a defrost problem on this style refrigerator is the "mother board"/ main control board WR55X10942C on the back of the refrigerator. Read More...
Brian B February 15, 2018 for Model Number Gss25xsress I have ice on freezer coils. I've replaced the defrost heater, defrost therm. and the temperature sensor, still happening. Could problem be computer board?
1 Answer Brian, With the element, thermostat and thermistor having been replaced then this will be an issue with the main control board. Read More...
Scott Levy December 25, 2017 for Model Number Gsh25sgpass Hello. I have replaced the defrost heater and the limiter. After working good for about a month the coil is freezing up again. What have I missed or overlooked? Thank you
1 Answer Scott, Check for an air leak at the door seals and dispenser chute door. Check the evaporator thermistor resistance. Check to make sure the defrost drain pan is draining and the drain trough isn't blocked or full of ice. Usually, if the top portion of the evaporator is frosted or iced over, this would indicate an evaporator fan motor issue. If the evaporator is completely iced /frosted over check or replace the main control board on the back of the refrigerator. The main control board is also the adaptive defrost control circuit, which could also have failed. Read More...
Joey September 24, 2017 for Model Number PSS26NGPACC I ordered and replaced the thermistor and two of the sensors. After replacement, the freezer temp went to 0 and the frig side to 37. perfect I thought. The refrigerator worked and then it became frosted and then it turned off and did not recycle. Do I need to replace the heater assembly? What else do I need to do? The code for the refrigerator temp looks like Ec, and the freezer side is now room temp at 70.
1 Answer Joey, This issue sounds like the unit is sticking in defrost and would require a new main control board. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Hot Beer. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. It should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
