Bill October 30, 2021 for Model Number GSS23WGSBBB The Dispenser on my GE has (had) what appears to be a black rubber tube which appears to direct ice down. The tube has somehow separated. I don't see the tube in the replacement kit. In addition to containing the ice down I think the tube has something to do with preventing room temp. air (warm) from entering the ice maker area which air condenses and freezes on the top of the Dispenser
1 Answer Bill, the ice would come through the door and out the door funnel in the dispenser arm kit WR49X10228 while the ice door flapper WR17X11653 is used to seal the opening when ice is not being dispensed. Read More...
Joe J April 15, 2017 for Model Number gss20gewjww I have the same problem as Trace M; the dispenser cover will not come off after removing the 4 screws and hangs up in the lower right corner.
1 Answer Joe, Once all the screws are out you will just lift up a little and pull out on the dispenser housing. This is the only way it will come out and there are no tabs holding it. Read More...
Trace M October 14, 2016 for Model Number ESL25JFWEBS I'm trying to remove the water Dispenser Housing Shield and after removing all 4 screws I cannot get it off. The lower right corner will not budge. Is there a plastic clip or something that could be holding it on? I've watched several videos and it looks like it should easily removed after removing the screws. Any ideas why the lower right corner on my shield will not move?
1 Answer Hello Trace. Make sure you have all the screws removed. If so, it should come out. You will need to look and see what it is hanging on. I do not see a tab on it. Read More...
Carlos January 12, 2016 for Model Number GSS25QGTACC On the new Housing Shield Dispenser assembly, can you tell me where the torsion spring goes? The guide the came with the parts. It is to small and no instructional text and all the videos are for "similar" installations not the actual part install. Thank you! Bryan for Model Number Gss25qgta cc

Isaac H. April 30, 2015 for Model Number ZFSB26DHSS How do you open the panel on the front side of the freezer door to replace an ice dispenser funnel and frame (the lever that you push to get water/ice).
1 Answer Hello Isaac, reach under the control and pull out and it will snap out. This will expose the screws which retains the dispenser housing. As a note, do not open this area with the power connected to the unit. Read More...
Matt H. March 19, 2015 for Model Number GSS23WGTABB Water is leaking from the bottom of the water dispenser and running down the face of the door and onto the floor. I have changed the water valve in the back of the refrigerator but that didn't stop the leak. What could be causing this?
1 Answer Hello Matt, You should check all connections between the water valve and the dispense tube. Any leak in the line will allow air to enter the water line and if an air bubble is in the system, the water will drip from the dispense tube. A common leak location is around the water reservoir. Bryan January 22, 2015 for Model Number G5C23KSTA SS On the new Housing Shield Dispenser assembly, can you tell me where the torsion spring goes? The guide the came with the parts. It is to small and no instructional text and all the videos are for "similar" installations not the actual part install. Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Bryan, The spring goes onto the end of the door recess crank and hooks to it on the one end and the other end provide tension against the dispenser shield housing. Vic November 01, 2014 for Model Number GSS25QSTASS Ref: Part Number: PS2364929 (HOUSING SHIELD DISP KIT) The handle/lever (one on the right in the pic you have for the part, showing three items), is broken at the bottom. If I push the funnel it is still dispensing ice and water. Do you just sell the handle? If not, where can I get it or can you suggest an alternate repair? I will greatly appreciate any help here. Thanks, Vic ()
1 Answer Vic, The part that you would need to get to repair the unit is the housing shield dispenser kit WR49X10228. The manufacturer has redesigned this part and you are unable to get the handle for the funnel as a separate part. Read More...
