Hello JC. You will need to check and see if the icemaker is over filling. If the icemaker is overfilling, replace the water valve. However, if the icemaker is leaking and not overfilling, just replace the icemaker.

Gina, If the icemaker fills and forms the ice but does not release the ice from the mold, this would be caused by a faulty heater on the icemaker in which the icemaker would need to be replaced.

Our icemaker door has been stuck closed for some time. We defrosted and it still was jammed. We tried turned the ice crusher manually to see if that would help, and it made it open a little more. We then tried running the dispenser to loosen it, and apparently the ice maker itself got knocked down off its mounting on the top of the compartment -- worsening the problem Now we're stuck. How can we get into this drawer to assess what's wrong without destroying the whole drawer assembly? I'm afraid that kind of expense might make ice trays not so bad anymore. This whole thing seems like a really bad design.

James, If the icemaker is jammed in the bin where you cannot get the bin out, then you will basically have to force it out. There is not a easy way to remove the bin or the front of the bin in hopes of dislodging the icemaker.

K. Vandewater, You will want to pull the icemaker out of the unit and check to make sure that the fill tube that comes into the icemaker to make sure that it is not frozen. This would be one cause for the unit to slowly stop making ice. The other issue would be caused by a faulty icemaker.

Gus, " Under normal operating conditions, the icemaker is capable of producing approximately 100-130 cubes (approximately 4.3 pounds of ice) in a 24-hour period. The rate of ice production depends on freezer compartment temperature, room temperature, number of door/drawer openings, and other use conditions". The fill cycle and the incoming water temperature and pressure also affect the ice production. Make sure that the refrigerator water supply is not attached to a "RO" (reverse osmosis) filter system, and that there is at least 32 PSI water pressure at the fill valve connection on the back of the refrigerator. It sounds like you have poor water flow/pressure to the fill valve and it takes several fill cycles to produce a proper sized cubes and cycle the ice maker.
