Bill July 17, 2011 for Model Number GE SPECTRA JBP26WOB3WW Front 8" burner does not match what the knob is set at. I had it on 1-2 and it boiled over a pot of food and coil was completely red. Is it a coil problem or a switch problem? If it is a switch problem which part # will work for me to replace it? Is it fairly easy to do, I'm pretty handy.
1 Answer Hello Bill. Based on the information you provided, and the model number you provided, it sounds like you will need to replace the switch WB24T10025. These are not hard to change. Just disconnect the power and remove the back cover off the control panel. Then remove the knob and the screws holding the switch in place. Unplug the wires fron the old switch and install them onto the new switch. Make sure you connect them properly. L1 goes to L1 and H1 to H1 ect. Hope this helps. Read More...
Lois July 12, 2011 for Model Number RB737OD4 The left front burner on my Hotpoint free standing operates only on high heat. Do I need a switch kit to fix this problem? (AP2023620)
Tracey June 16, 2011 for Model Number RDE6300Y1 I have an old Whirlpool drop-in stove. It still works like a dream, but I need a burner switch replacement for the stove top. This looks like the part I need (AP2023620) and will gladly order it promptly (seeing how neither Lowes, Home Depot, nor Ace Hardware carries these items on shelf) but I want to get your opinion since you are the "Parts Expert." Since I cannot see the bottom, I cannot tell if it has a total of 6 prongs (2 to the eye, and 4 to the system itself) and since the model number, I think, is listed on the part itself (71178) cannot be found in any database that I can find on the web, will this work?
1 Answer Hello Tracey! The switch you are inquiring about WB21X36771 is used on GE products. The model supplied, RDE6300Y1, is a Whirlpool unit. For your model, it will use a different part number. You will use part number WP3149401 for the 6" burners and part number WP3149399 for the 8" burners. Thanks! Read More...
Jim M. February 22, 2011 I have a GE electric stove, free standing, model JBP30BA1, with a blinking 'clean' light and the oven inoperable. When I rotate the oven thermostat knob, the display shows a setting but the oven does not heat and the clean LED flashes. What should I check first? I have a voltmeter and can repair the unit but how do I isolate the problem? Thanks in advance. Feel free to phone me if you need additional information, cell: 214-690-1893
1 Answer The clean light will blink when the Self Clean cycle has been selected. This will not allow the oven to bake. You will need to cancel out the self cleaning cycle. Read More...
