The MWF Bypass is an OEM replacement part for GE refrigerators. Located within the bottom freezer compartment, the metal water filter bypass fitted assembly is responsible for directing filtered or unfiltered water flow to the ice maker and dispenser.

Causes for replacement may include faulty diverter components obstructing water flow to selections or resulting in water leaks.

Symptoms of a problematic bypass unit include:

  • Inability to select filtered or unfiltered water from the dispenser
  • Ice maker failure due to lack of water or poor water quality
  • Mineral deposits accumulating on internal parts from unfiltered water

This OEM replacement bypass is compatible with GE, Hotpoint, and Profile model refrigerators.
