Josey February 21, 2016 for Model Number GEW9200LW0 Hi, My GE XL44 oven has the round style igniter (your part# AP2014008). Any reason why the flat style igniter GE part# WB13K21 wouldn't work? Thanks in Advance.
1 Answer Hello Josey. Yes, the burner is not made to accommodate the square and the design is different. You will need to use the round glow ignitor on your model. Read More...
Dee Dee February 19, 2016 for Model Number GE XL44 317B6641POO1 I have a GE XL44 found this number 317B6641POO1 top burner working, oven and broiler is not - there is an orange color on the glowbar - should i get both oven/bake igniter and the broiler igniter, what is the part numbers for these thank you
1 Answer Dee Dee, The model number listed is not a valid model but the best thing that you can do is check at the oven safety valve with the unit turned to bake or broil and check for 3.2 to 3.6 vac at the safety valve. If there is not 3.2 to 3.6 vac then the issue will be a faulty igniter and if there is 3.2 to 3.6 vac then the issue will be the oven safety valve. Read More...
Tim January 26, 2016 for Model Number RGB528GET1AD HOT POINT Oven will not come on , the igniter does not come on can it be something else other then the igniter?
1 Answer Hello Tim. Yes, the control could be bad. Test for power to the igniter during a bake cycle. If it is there, the igniter is bad. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Terry M January 18, 2016 for Model Number JGBP28SEH3SS Hi.. My broiler works but the oven does not. Would it be the oven ignitor? or is something else possible? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Terry. You will need to check the ignitor. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Daniel November 30, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore: 9113652191 My oven and broiler do not work. Neither ignitor glows at all. Checked top of safety valve with ohm meter and got reading. Can you tell what you think?
1 Answer Hello Daniel. If there is no power to the igniters, then the clock WB27K5187 is bad. This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
Poz November 14, 2015 I replaced my oven igniter yesterday with a brand new one. My wife claims she smells gas when the oven comes on. I understand this is normal to an extent but when the flames kick on we now smell a plastic-burning type smell. Has anyone experienced the same? Could it be the "newness" burning off the new part?
1 Answer Hello Poz, I'm sorry but without the model number from the units' I.D. tag we cannot tell what configuration you have in you home. Each design is a bit different and have their own "quirks". If you could please post a new question in a new string with this information, we can give you an idea of where to look for the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Jack April 10, 2015 for Model Number jgbp26gen2ad Neither the oven or broiler will come on. The oven igniter does not glow. I can't see the oven igniter with out taking the broiler apart.
1 Answer Hello Jack, If the unit has not been moved recently it is doubtful that both ignitors failed at the same time although it is possible. I would first look at the ignitor and note the color. If it is red or orange, it is not getting hot enough to ignite the gas and will require replacement. If it is yellow or white hot, it is hot enough and the issue will more likely be the gas valve. If they do not glow at all, you should check the harness and the output from the clock assembly. Read More...
Lynda J March 19, 2015 for Model Number GEW9200LW1 My oven and broiler don't light. The igniter did glow orange but I didn't hear any clicking. Now the igniter does not even come on. Could I have more that one problem?
1 Answer Hello Lynda. You need to test and see if there is power coming to the igniter. If so, and the igniter does not glow, you will need to order and replace the igniter on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Rob March 06, 2015 for Model Number JGBP35BEA5BB I see the broiler igniter has a harness setup. Does the oven igniter on the bottom of the oven have a harness or is it wired with wire nuts etc. so I will need to strip wires to install it?
1 Answer Hello Rob. Most do have a connector. However, if the connectors do not match, then you will cut them off and wire nut the wires together. Read More...
