Robert February 05, 2015 for Model Number JGBP40BEC4WH Hi. GE XL44. My broiler doesn't light but my oven does. I bought a new igniter from you and installed it. Ohm reading similar between old and new igniters, but I installed it anyway since it was the original and I already had it out. Broiler still doesn't light. oven lights fine, and since my safety valve is dual, it should be good? Also self clean does not light either over or broiler. I made sure the connection was good at the igniter and connector also. Is there a fuse or relay perhaps. I still need to pull the sove back out and measure for voltage TO the igniter. If there is voltage what then, if there is no voltage what then? Stove is about ten years old and wife wants a new double oven. If the repair is expensive I might just cut my losses. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Robert, When checking to see if the issue is the power to the igniter then test for 3.2 to 3.6 vac at the oven safety valve. If there is not power there then the igniter is most likely not getting power since new igniter was installed. This would be a control board issue if that is the case. If there is proper power there are the broil is not igniting then the safety valve would be the issue. Read More...
Nick January 10, 2015 for Model Number Kenmore wall oven 9113022990 I have a wall oven with a single burner . When I select broiler or oven controller lights up "on" for a few seconds and then light goes off on the control . The Igniter does not glow at all while I am doing this . I assume the igniter bad ? Should I order one ? Thank You, Nick
1 Answer Nick, Unless the issue occurs on bake as well then the igniter would not be the issue. This is most likely going to be a faulty control board that is causing this issue. Read More...
Jose R December 29, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore 362.7391991 My oven ignites but then shuts off. The temperature inside oven does not reach desired temperature (400F) but control display shows 400F. My ignitor glows orange while oven is lit but then ignitor shuts off. Is this an ignitor problem or a thermostat? Or oven sensor? The broiler on top does appear to work fine.
1 Answer Jose, You will want to check the oven sensor to make sure that it is good. The resistance of the sensor should be 1090 ohms at room temp. If this does not have the proper resistance then the issue will be the sensor. If the sensor checks ok then the igniter would most likely be the issue. Read More...
Isaias Patino December 06, 2014 for Model Number stove GE xl44 The stove that I have has 2 different igniters. on goes at the top and one at the bottom of the stove. One is like the igniter that is shown on the video and the other one has 2 separate cables, Im wondering if I can use the igniter with the 2 cables and strip the wires and use it in place of the top igniter with the joint connection.
1 Answer Hello Isaias. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please call 1-877-477-7278 or post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx Read More...

Mag55 November 11, 2014 for Model Number JGBP30WEA5WW I replaced my oven ignitor about 5 years ago,now my broiler will not light but the oven still does. There is no glow when I turn on the broiler.
1 Answer Hello Mag55. You need to check the power coming to the igniter. If it is there and the igniter does not work, you will need to replace the igniter on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Gerry October 27, 2014 for Model Number GEjgbp79wev4ww Do I have to take the plate below the igniter off in order to replace it.
1 Answer Gerry, If you are unable to get the igniter off without taking the burner out then you would need to remove the burner as the plate is attached to the burner itself. Read More...

Morty September 11, 2014 for Model Number JGBP30BEA6WH My oven works fine but my broil and self clean does not work. What part would be needed to fix this. Does the oven and broiler take different igniters? Also where could I find written installation instructions.
1 Answer Hello Morty, This model does use the same ignitor WB2X9154 for the broil and the bake burners. This part will cause the issue you have described but the sensor WB21X5301 and the control WB27K10143 could also cause this. I would test the sensor for about 1100 ohms of resistance at about 70°F while tapping on it in case the problem is intermittent. If this tests good, the ignitor is next suspect. If it is good also, replace the control WB27K10143. Read More...
