Roger F February 16, 2012 for Model Number jgrs06 bejibb my broiler will not light the burner. I think when broiler is called upon to work, the ignitor should start, then the burner should get gas to burn. The igniter never sparks. I think the ignitor musy be faulty. Would I need to pull the oven out of the cabinet to relace the igniter. Old igniter will not pull out far enough to expose any plug on the wires. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Roger, You're on the right track, You most likely have a weak or inoperable oven burner igniter WB2X9154. The oven igniter does not spark, it glows. You normally do not have to remove the oven from the wall, but you do need to turn the power and the gas off to the oven, when you start the repair. Open or remove the oven door and oven racks. Remove the oven bottom panel, and the flame spreader off the burner. program a cycle and temperature and observe the ignitor, it should start to glow within a few seconds, and the burner should ignite in 30 to 60 seconds after the glow begins. You can also check for a 2.5 to 3.0 amp draw in the electrical wires at the igniter, if you have a meter. To replace the igniter, it's just a matter of removing the screws holding the igniter to the burner and the screws holding the "cover/bracket" on the rear wall of the cavity, to access and remove the wire nuts. Marsha February 15, 2012 for Model Number jgbp79beb2bb I keep getting an f2 code after I use the oven. In the middle of the night after I have been baking for hours even the next night the f2 flashes and beeps continually. I turn it off and a few minutes late it comes on again. I am pretty handy. Can you give me an idea of the part number and what I need to do to fix this darn thing. It is annoying to wake in the middle of the night to the beeping of my stove with an f2 code. Thanks.

Boo December 20, 2011 for Model Number JGSP31GER1WG Oven does not heat to displayed temperature (low temp compared to display). I suspected the oven sensor probe as malfunctioning. I disconnected the sensor from the cable that goes to display control board, and ohm'ed out the sensor (1269 ohms) at room temperature. They say that it should be about 1100 ohm's at room temperature. Is 1269 too high for this sensor, and is this the cause of my malfunction? Or is it the control board?
1 Answer Hello Boo. Based on the reading, it sounds like the sensor WB21X5301 is bad and needs to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
1 Answer Hello RBF. If the oven sensor WB21X5301 is bad in the unit, the oven will not heat properly. It should read around 1100 ohms at room temperature. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Renato December 04, 2011 for Model Number JGRS14GEP1BG I'm working on the above oven model GEJGRS14GEP1BG, when you turn on the oven there's no error code that shows (no F-1, F-2, or any F- error code) but the igniter doesnt even turn-on nor the terminal on the control board for the sensor has no voltage reading even tho' the sensor is normal. Is this a control control board malfunction?
1 Answer Renato, Are you sure the igniter is in tact and not cracked or broken ? WB2X9154. There is no voltage on the oven sensor connector on the ERC, it is a resistance circuit, and shouldn't have a reading until a temperature programmed. What you do need to do is program a bake cycle and temperature and check for 120 VAC from the "BK" terminal on the back of the ERC to chassis ground, with the wire disconnected. If you have the voltage then the igniter or wire from the ERC is broken. No voltage, Faulty ERC relay and will need the ERC/Clock. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Mhm91 December 01, 2011 for Model Number JSP28GOP18G Can the existent temp sensor be otherwise bad even if the resistance at room temperature is correct at 1,100 ohm? Should I try putting a new replacement sensor in even if this means cutting the wire as the connector has changed and making a wire nut connection?
1 Answer Hello Mhm91. Yes, the sensor WB21X5301 can be bad, and test good at room temperature. It can fail under the heat load. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mhm91 December 01, 2011 for Model Number JSP28GOP18G It's me again, who has the series of F3 and F2 error codes. It turns out that my existing temp sensor's resistance checks out ok at 1,100 ohm. What should I check next?
1 Answer Hello Mhm91. If the sensor is new, and the code continues, you have a bad control WB27K5073. This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Thanks. Read More...
Mhm91 November 28, 2011 for Model Number JSP28GOP18G I have a GE slide-in electrical range model JSP28GOP18G. When I switch on the oven after it heats up it displays an error code "F3" with a loud beep. I hit cancel and then it continues displaying "F2" error codes with a beep which reoccurs shortly each time after I press cancel. If I open the door it stops displaying error codes faster than if I keep the door closed. My suspicion is that the temperature sensor is broken. Which part number do I have to order
1 Answer Hello Mhm91. Yes, based on the codes you are getting, it sounds like the oven sensor WB21X5301 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
David R November 25, 2011 for Model Number JGBP85BEB5BB Oven gets up to temp, but will not maintain. Stove is set at 350. Display shows 350, but thermometer in oven displays 190. I have ohmed the temp probe and checked out at 1080.
1 Answer David, How accurate is the thermometer in the oven ? At room temp. the sensor resistance should be 1050 to 1100 ohms, you should check the resistance at 400 dgrs. (1750 ohms) and check for loose connections in the wiring. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Tamara November 22, 2011 for Model Number JGBP30WEA89WW Oven will not come up to temp. (Broiler works fine) The Troll and Puff condition. Seems an Igniter issue. Can I use the igniter from the Broiler (which I never ever use in 8 yrs) for the lower oven igniter? ie: Will the 'oven' work with out an ingniter installed in the broiler?
1 Answer Hi Tamera. Inspect the oven igniter while cold. It should ohm out between 50- 800 ohms cold. If it has a crack in the middle, it cannot conduct current needed to open the safety. Igniter Part # WB13K21. Made by GE. IMPORTANT: Connector plug may need to be cut off and igniter wires connected to range wires using porcelain wire nuts. Thank You. Read More...
