The Oven Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for GE ovens. This part monitors the oven's internal temperature, ensuring it matches the set temperature on the oven's controls. By accurately measuring the heat inside the oven, the sensor assembly communicates with the oven's control system to adjust the temperature accordingly.

Over time, the oven sensor can become faulty due to wear or damage, leading to inaccurate temperature readings. This can manifest as unevenly cooked food, longer cooking times, or an oven that fails to reach the desired temperature setting.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Sensor Assembly include:

  • The oven temperature is inconsistent with the setting
  • Food is not cooking evenly or as expected
  • The oven fails to heat to the set temperature
  • Error codes appearing on the oven display related to temperature regulation

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Oven Sensor Assembly (Part Number: OEM6071019)

Roger, You're on the right track, You most likely have a weak or inoperable oven burner igniter WB2X9154. The oven igniter does not spark, it glows. You normally do not have to remove the oven from the wall, but you do need to turn the power and the gas off to the oven, when you start the repair. Open or remove the oven door and oven racks. Remove the oven bottom panel, and the flame spreader off the burner. program a cycle and temperature and observe the ignitor, it should start to glow within a few seconds, and the burner should ignite in 30 to 60 seconds after the glow begins. You can also check for a 2.5 to 3.0 amp draw in the electrical wires at the igniter, if you have a meter. To replace the igniter, it's just a matter of removing the screws holding the igniter to the burner and the screws holding the "cover/bracket" on the rear wall of the cavity, to access and remove the wire nuts. Good Luck and Thanks

Renato, Are you sure the igniter is in tact and not cracked or broken ? WB2X9154. There is no voltage on the oven sensor connector on the ERC, it is a resistance circuit, and shouldn't have a reading until a temperature programmed. What you do need to do is program a bake cycle and temperature and check for 120 VAC from the "BK" terminal on the back of the ERC to chassis ground, with the wire disconnected. If you have the voltage then the igniter or wire from the ERC is broken. No voltage, Faulty ERC relay and will need the ERC/Clock. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Mhm91. If the sensor is new, and the code continues, you have a bad control WB27K5073. This part has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Thanks.

Mhm91 for Model Number JSP28GOP18G

I have a GE slide-in electrical range model JSP28GOP18G. When I switch on the oven after it heats up it displays an error code "F3" with a loud beep. I hit cancel and then it continues displaying "F2" error codes with a beep which reoccurs shortly each time after I press cancel. If I open the door it stops displaying error codes faster than if I keep the door closed. My suspicion is that the temperature sensor is broken. Which part number do I have to order

David, How accurate is the thermometer in the oven ? At room temp. the sensor resistance should be 1050 to 1100 ohms, you should check the resistance at 400 dgrs. (1750 ohms) and check for loose connections in the wiring. Good Luck and Thanks

Hi Tamera. Inspect the oven igniter while cold. It should ohm out between 50- 800 ohms cold. If it has a crack in the middle, it cannot conduct current needed to open the safety. Igniter Part # WB13K21. Made by GE. IMPORTANT: Connector plug may need to be cut off and igniter wires connected to range wires using porcelain wire nuts. Thank You.
