The Oven Sensor Assembly is an OEM part for GE ovens. This part monitors the oven's internal temperature, ensuring it matches the set temperature on the oven's controls. By accurately measuring the heat inside the oven, the sensor assembly communicates with the oven's control system to adjust the temperature accordingly.

Over time, the oven sensor can become faulty due to wear or damage, leading to inaccurate temperature readings. This can manifest as unevenly cooked food, longer cooking times, or an oven that fails to reach the desired temperature setting.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Sensor Assembly include:

  • The oven temperature is inconsistent with the setting
  • Food is not cooking evenly or as expected
  • The oven fails to heat to the set temperature
  • Error codes appearing on the oven display related to temperature regulation

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Ge Oven Sensor Assembly (Part Number: OEM6071019)

Hello Kent! Here is the information from our error code information: 1. Look for welded relay contacts on bake or broil relays. If this happens, replace oven control (also called clock or ERC). 2. For SELF CLEAN models: check door lock operation. 3. Look for a high resistance connection or any other cause of high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit. Check sensor, sensor harness and sensor harness connection at sensor and oven control. Replace sensor if found defective. Remember: Oven control (ERC) measures resistance of sensor circuit, not actual oven temperature Hope this information helps!

Hello Bill. You will need to test the bake element WB44K5013 and see if it is good. It should read closed for continuity. If it is good, you will need to test the relay on the clock assembly and see if it is sending voltage to the bake element. If not, you will need to replace the clock WB27K5190. Hope this helps.

Arthur for Model Number JB940WY 2 ww

This is my mom's oven. It gives a f-3 fault when you try to turn oven on, after a few minutes it will give you a f-2 fault. I took temp probe out and ohmed, had 114kohms. I added heat to probe and ohms came down to 10kohms, let cool and ohms go back up. Is this the problem or do I have another problem? When I cycle the power on the oven, and try to turn it on, the fan in the oven turns for 1/2 second then I get the fault f-3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Arthur
