The Rear Drum Bearing Kit is an OEM replacement part for GE dryers. It is a comprehensive kit that includes both rear drum bearings and necessary mounting hardware. These bearings play a vital role in smoothly rotating the dryer drum during cycles, reducing vibrations and noise.

Symptoms of bad bearings include:

  • Excessive shaking or vibrating during cycles
  • Loud grinding or scraping noises emanating from the rear drum area
  • Difficulty turning or rotating the dryer drum by hand
  • Increased wear and early failure of other components

Causes of bad bearings can include normal wear and tear over time, exposure to excessive loads or unbalanced loads that strained the bearings, or damage from extended use without proper lubrication.

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Rear Drum Bearing Kit (Part Number: OEM7857909)

Roger M. for Model Number DCVH515GFOWW

My dryer makes a sound like it has an unbalanced load after it has been running for some 20 min. But there is no unbalanced load. Some months ago I replaced the front bearing and the plastic strips. Now I thought maybe the rear bearing needs replacing. I was leaning towards replacing the whole assemble item WE25M40. But it looks like that does not include the washer 3127 which appears to be completely missing in my dryer. Any suggestions? Thanks, Roger

Hello Roger! No, the o-ring WE1M461 does not come with the rear drum bearing kit WE25M40. If missing from your unit you'll need to purchase and install. Thanks.

Hello Ken. You need to check the rear bearing and the front glides in the unit. If bad, it is best to replace them both and not just the front or the rear.

Gary, You will want to check the bearing slides at the front of the drum as this would most likely be the issue. Also the rear bearing may be causing the issue.
