Chadd June 20, 2018 for Model Number DPXR473EW0WW Hello, My GE Profile Dryer MOD. # DPXR473EW0WW was working fine and started. the next load the starter switch would not turn to start and the knob even cracked. so I took it off and the switch would still not turn. So I ordered a new knob and new start switch part # WE4X881 which is compatible. I installed the started, very simple, pluged in the wires and then the dryer. The new switch will turn right to start but doesn't start. Is there a reset switch or something the install video did not mention? Please help I can afford a tech to come out to look at it, their hourly rate is very high. Please help thank you. Chadd

Dan August 20, 2015 I replaced the rotating starter switch WE4X881 with a new one. The dryer started right up and dried the next load of laundry quite nicely. However, when I put the second load of laundry in, the new starter switch would not turn. I don't know what the problem is. Help!

First, recheck and make sure the switch is installed correctly, there isn't any obstructions in the way near the switch and make sure the knob hasn't pushed down too far and causing the knob to drag on the console. Lisa July 29, 2015 for Model Number ge dryer Start button fell inside top. Took apart top and put it back through, then pushed in knob. I forgot to unplug the power cord. The wires let out a pop. 2 are a little burn on but no fire occurred. My question is have I ruined the dryer or can it be repaired? Havent checked to see if it starts.
