Arlene January 18, 2016 I have a very, very old GE electric stovetop. The burner elements need to be replaced so would like to replace the receptacles at the same time (they look in pretty bad shape). I cannot find a model number anywhere, but the existing receptacles are part #WB2X2398. Would any of these receptacle kits work?
1 Answer Hello Arlene. WB2X2398 is the terminal block needed. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not offer the wiring for your appliance. The wiring will have to be made and adapted to your appliance and may require a technician. Sorry about that! Read More...
Mai N. November 22, 2015 for Model Number RB757BC2WH Which one should I order: terminal block kit or receptacle, because in the picture they look almost the same. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Mai, This depends on what the issue is with your range. If you need the light socket in the bake compartment, you will need the receptacle WB08T10026. If you need the surface burner receptacle, you would use the terminal block kit WB17T10006. Read More...
Noora June 12, 2015 Does the kit include the four wires pairs (colored) as shown in the video with their receptacle blocks or for only one surface unit . if not , which part number I should order to have all of them in order to replace all of them for the four surface units as shown in the video Thanks
1 Answer Hello Noora. No, WB17T10006 is just 1 set of wires. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please call 1-877-477-7278 or post your model number with a new question on the parts page. Tom K April 09, 2015 for Model Number Whirlpool I replaced the two large burner blocks and put in new burners. When I turned them on the red light shows power to them but do not heat up.
1 Answer Tom, You will want to check the infinite switch on the elements in question from H1 to H2 with the knob turned to the on position and make sure that there is 240 vac at those points. If there is not 240 vac then the switch is bad and would need to be replaced. Read More...
George January 13, 2015 for Model Number jbp24wok1ww I would like to replace the terminal blocks and wiring harness for all 4 burners, but I don't know what part number to order. The wires are not in good shape so I'm planning on replacing everything. Thanks
1 Answer Hello George, I have always used 330031 and never had a problem. Just let the wire nut twist the wires, (twisting the wires before the wire nut installation will cause the wires to break). Also, put the heat shrink on over the wire nut and the heat from the surface element will shrink it, (no need for flame in there). If you would rather, you can order four of these WB17T10006 but you will end up with some of the wires being too long which can cause problems sooner than expected. Read More...
Richard L. October 15, 2014 for Model Number JSP34W0D22WW I got a replacement terminal block WB17T10006. The video refers to a free standing stove-oven where there is access to a rear panel. But there is no access to such a panel for the drop in stove-oven. How do I get access to the terminals where I should connect the wires from the terminal block? Also, what would be the problem with splicing the wires from the terminal block to the existing wires that used to attach to the old terminal block? I could use either crimped wire connectors or solder. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Richard, The problem with hooking to the wires instead of to the terminal block WB17X5095 is getting a good connection that will not burn out from the current flow. You may have to remove the unit from the installation but there will be a way to access the terminal block. Without the terminal block, you would need to make the connection with a split bolt and make sure it is well insulated to prevent an electrical short. Read More...
Wjm August 04, 2014 for Model Number jbp24bb4ad My two large elements are overheating. I turn them on low (below level 5) and they turn red hot after cooking about 10 minutes or so. The other small elements and the oven works fine. What do I need to replace?
1 Answer Hello WJM. It sounds like the infinite switches WB24T10025 for those elements are bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Dean. Its possible you may have a bad element, but it sounds like you may have a bad infinite switch. Read More...
Don December 26, 2013 for Model Number jbp35c0k1cc Hello, We have to replace these blocks at least once every six months. It's always the large burner blocks that go bad. Any idea why they keep shorting out? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Don. If they are shorting out, it may be due to bad elements causing arching inside the terminal block. I would try replacing the element with the block. Read More...
Ben May 19, 2013 for Model Number JDP36B0D1CT There doesn't seem to be a kit available with the wire nuts and shrink tubing splice package for the GE WB17T10006 terminal block kit. I know you said to use either med or lrg high temp porecelain wire nuts, but what do you recommend in the way of shrink tubing to put over the wire nut splices? This GE unit is a built in, hard wired unit and will be difficult to get out and complete a repair, so I'd like to use the splice method near the terminal block, but I want to be sure I have the right high temp wire nuts and high temp shrink tubing. Thanks for your help.
1 Answer Ben, The wire nuts, as long as they are ceramic will work for your unit. It is not necessary to put the shrink wrap on the nuts. The shrink is normally used in situations where there is moisture to keep the moisture from getting into the connection. Read More...
