Ar October 05, 2023 for Model Number RGB745BEHCWH Top burners work, oven not heating when set to preheat. No glow in oven. Can a regulator can cause this?
1 Answer AR, If the top is working as normal then the issue will not be the regulator. With no glow, I would suggest checking for power to the oven ignitor. If you have power to the ignitor and it does not glow then the ignitor would need to be replaced. If there is no power to the ignitor when turned on for bake you would need to check the control next. Benny May 14, 2023 for Model Number RGB745EEH5BB If I wanted to not use the oven/broil function could I use any standard gas regulator to make the connection to the manifold supply pipe for the range burners?
1 Answer Benny, It would not be recommended to attach a regulator that is not approved for use on this range. Read More...
Scott March 22, 2020 for Model Number RGB745WEH3WW My oven lights and burns good .The problem is on shut off the flame finally goes out but the gas still flows very slightly. I proved this by holding a fire stick at the burner, there is a sputtering type ignition.Pull stick away ,flame goes out. there is gas coming out of orifice, proved that too. I think I need a new oven valve? Thanks ,Scott
1 Answer Scott, based on the information provided, the gas valve assembly WB19K10041 has failed as it is not closing fully once the ignitor stops receiving voltage. Read More...
Alex September 09, 2019 This is the part I was led to for my GE gas range. The broiler and oven both light, but when the oven is on and lit, there is a fairly strong gas smell. There is no gas smell when the broiler is on. Oven igniter was changed less than 2 months ago and the stovetop works fine. The regulator should fix it, right?
1 Answer Alex, it is possible that the valve assembly could be the cause. However, if the model number for your appliance could be provided in a new inquiry, the most accurate information can be presented. Read More...
Frank July 12, 2016 for Model Number JGBP28SEM1SS The top burners work fine, but when I use the oven there is a gas smell and the oven gets very hot. What should I check first? Is there something that regulates the LP flow into the oven?
1 Answer Frank, The oven safety valve WB19K10051 is what regulates the gas flow coming into the oven. Read More...
Brian May 04, 2014 for Model Number RGB745BEH4WH I have replaced the Electronic Relay Board. The ignitors for the stove and broiler both work. The temperature sensor also works. It sensors temp. for the broiler but has trouble with the oven. The gas comes on and the oven fires but will not reach tempurature. It senses 350 degrees when this bottom plate is out, but will not heat above 250 degrees when the bottom plate is in. The gas chamber fires but I am not sure how long the flames should be??? It only gets luke warm, not hot. Should I replace the valve next?
1 Answer Brian, If the unit works with the oven bottom out but not working properly with the oven bottom in then there is some type of air flow issue with the bake burner. Check the burner to make sure that there are no cobwebs in the air shutter or rust around the burner ports as this would be the most common reason for your issue. Read More...
Butch November 24, 2013 for Model Number RGB790SEH7SA Hello, I have a Ge gas range. The oven won't light but the broiler will. Broiler is mounted in the top part of the oven. The igniter was not getting hot so I replaced it. Still the same thing so I just replaced the gas valve assembly. Still the same thing. What's left to check the oven sensor assembly? Desperate in Los angeles :-)
1 Answer Hello Butch, If you have replaced the ignitor and the gas valve, the only other thing in the circuit is the relay board WB27K10355. Read More...
Robert August 05, 2013 for Model Number RGB745BEH9CT I have purchased orifice holders from your company to convert back to NG, I need help converting the oven portion to NG. Please provide me with detailed instructions on how to convert the gas valve/regulator back to NG.
1 Answer Robert, To convert the oven burners back to natural gas you will loosen the orifices 1 1/2 to 2 turns and close off the air shutters. There may have to be some tweaking done to get the flame blue. On the regulator there will be a cap that you remove and flip over from LP to Nat. Read More...
Jj September 19, 2012 for Model Number jgbp33seh2s Oven would not ignite, replaced ignitor, still will not light. The control panel display shows to be operating properly, would the problem be the oven safety valve?
1 Answer Hi JJ. Check the oven sensor part # AP2023670 for 1100ohms. If it is open then it will not allow the controls to work. Are there any fault codes showing? Can you command bake and broil temperature ranges as the clock works well? Is the clock fully lit up ? Make sure you have 120 vac on the red wire at the K-1 Broil relay and the K-2 Bake relay. GE GAS (ROUND) IGNITER / VALVE ; Test for 2.6-3.0 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. Part # AP4481427. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can use a ohm meter part # AP3440648 to aid you in this. You will read between 50 - 250 ohms on a cold igniter. Thank You. Read More...
Tony August 17, 2012 for Model Number GE JGBP33BEL2BB hi i purchased the product above and i was wondering if i needed any additional tools or anything on the threads like liquids/sealants/tape or anything of the sort when replacing it? or is this just a simple install with no additional steps besides replacing what i see? thank you very much
1 Answer Tony, The only place you'll need to add something is at the regulator. You will want to use Teflon tape or pipe compound on the threads of the 1/2 in. "close in" nipple and adapter to the gas line, all the other fittings are pre tightenned, and the gas line adapter to the broil burner is a flared fitting and will seat and seal on it's own, if installed properly.
