Curt June 12, 2013 for Model Number WCSR2090DAWW Washer works fine, will fill with water, agitates but makes a loud screaming noise through out agitation, during spin it is not as loud. Does that sound like transmission or bearing. Thanks for your time. Curt

Dan May 05, 2013 for Model Number wpsf5170w0ww Hi - my front load GE washer was doing everything but agitating. I've replaced the coupling and it will now agitate with no clothes in it, but sometimes will stop either when clothes are added or just after a minute of agitating. If I turn the agitator manually to the left or right it will re-engage, but only weakly and only for a short period of time. Thx! -Dan

Pris February 28, 2013 for Model Number GTWN4450M1WS Agitator does not turn. Removed front cover and fault code flashes 4 times.
1 Answer Pris, The 4 flashes indicate that the mode shifter circuit has failed and you will want to check the coils on the mode shifter. To test the mode shifter you will uplug the orange and yellow wire from the motor, this is the C7 connector. Check the continuity between the two pins on the wires. At room temp the resistance value should be approximately 98 ohms, room temp 77 degrees. If the mode shifter WH38X10017 checks ok then you will need to replace the motor WH20X10066. Read More...
