Hello Cyndi, It sounds like you have a bad tub seal WH02X10383 and tub bearing WH2X1198 and these would need to be replaced. The tub seal being bad will cause leak and cause the tub bearings to go out.

Hello Chanda, This isn't grease but old, spoiled fabric softener. The agitator needs to be removed and thoroughly cleaned. You see, most folks don't realize that fabric softener is made of 80% to 90% animal fat. The remaining content is colorings and perfumes to mask its' decomposition. This means that it will spoil. If you want to try an experiment, put a drip of fabric softener on top of the dryer. Look at it every day. It will start out blue and slowly turn green, then yellow, then brown, and eventually black. Somewhere between the yellow and black stages a chunk will break loose and get into the wash. Being animal fat, it will stain clothing just like grease will. This is why the manufacturer recommends to dilute the softener with hot water before putting the softener into the dispenser. This prevents the "clinging" of the softener from making the big mess that seems to exist in most homes. You need to remove the agitator and clean it with hot white vinegar to stop the staining of the clothing.

I have question about an issue with my 2006 ge hydrowave washer. I have tried replacing endless parts but nothing seems to fix the issue. The problem with the washer is that everything seems to function right. It agitates, spins, drains, and fills fine but not in the right order and not always. It seems to keep agitating while it is draining and once the cycle is complete, it stays on and continues agitating even with the power button off. I have changed the control board twice. I also changed the lid switch but the issue remained. I checked the motor led light and no error issues were present and it lit normally at .5 sec on and .5 sec off while running and 1 sec on, 1 sec off on standby. Tried resetting it various times by powering it off two minutes, and opening and closing the lid six times, but no success. At this point I have no clue what else could be the problem, the washer just seems out of whack. I would greatly appreciate any advice!

Hi. All the explanation you provided is a timed issue from a control part # WH12X10405. Continuous run of the unit is a shorted controls. You will also need to consider changing the power filter part # WH12X10408. Look at the file sent to assist. I will be here if I can assist you further. Thank You.

Hello Megan, This is definitely a bad coupler. If you looked it up by your correct model number, the part number you were looking at WH49X10042 is correct. Otherwise, without the model number, nothing can be correctly looked up since everything in the appliance field is model specific.

Jeff, It may be easiest to use a "Dremel Tool" and cut the coupler off the agitator shaft. You could also use a little penetrating oil, down the screw hole opening and a gear puller(after you reinstall the screw) to remove the coupler.

JoJo, You'll need to remove the bolt and lift the coupler off the agitator shaft, and check for damaged splines in the center opening of the underside of the coupler. If the splines are OK, you'll need to make sure you have the agitator snapped and "locked" down on the coupler. The coupler will move with the shaft, without a "load" but with the agitator installed and a load on it, if the coupler is "stripped" the agitator won't move.

Hello Annetta, There should be a threaded hole there for your screw to be installed into. If there is a screw thing sticking up there, I would see if it will unscrew out of the hole. The screw head could have been twisted off. If it will not come out, you may have to replace the transmission assembly WH38X10002. This hole has to be present because without it, the agitator will continue to come off with the coupler inside an it is extremely hard to get the coupler out of the bottom of the agitator since it snaps in rather tightly.
