Cyndi December 08, 2012 for Model Number WBSR3140D5WW When my washer machine spin cycle comes on, it leaks water and it also have a sound when you move the tub.
1 Answer Hello Cyndi, It sounds like you have a bad tub seal WH02X10383 and tub bearing WH2X1198 and these would need to be replaced. The tub seal being bad will cause leak and cause the tub bearings to go out. Read More...
Chanda M. November 21, 2012 My washer is leaking oil/grease from under the agitator onto my clothes during wash cycles. The agitator bolt is rusted away and the rubber washer was loose. If I buy the agitator coupling kit, will this solve my problem? Thanks so much, Chanda
1 Answer Hello Chanda, This isn't grease but old, spoiled fabric softener. The agitator needs to be removed and thoroughly cleaned. You see, most folks don't realize that fabric softener is made of 80% to 90% animal fat. The remaining content is colorings and perfumes to mask its' decomposition. This means that it will spoil. If you want to try an experiment, put a drip of fabric softener on top of the dryer. Look at it every day. It will start out blue and slowly turn green, then yellow, then brown, and eventually black. Somewhere between the yellow and black stages a chunk will break loose and get into the wash. Being animal fat, it will stain clothing just like grease will. This is why the manufacturer recommends to dilute the softener with hot water before putting the softener into the dispenser. This prevents the "clinging" of the softener from making the big mess that seems to exist in most homes. You need to remove the agitator and clean it with hot white vinegar to stop the staining of the clothing. Read More...
Luis October 22, 2012 for Model Number wpre8100g0wt I have question about an issue with my 2006 ge hydrowave washer. I have tried replacing endless parts but nothing seems to fix the issue. The problem with the washer is that everything seems to function right. It agitates, spins, drains, and fills fine but not in the right order and not always. It seems to keep agitating while it is draining and once the cycle is complete, it stays on and continues agitating even with the power button off. I have changed the control board twice. I also changed the lid switch but the issue remained. I checked the motor led light and no error issues were present and it lit normally at .5 sec on and .5 sec off while running and 1 sec on, 1 sec off on standby. Tried resetting it various times by powering it off two minutes, and opening and closing the lid six times, but no success. At this point I have no clue what else could be the problem, the washer just seems out of whack. I would greatly appreciate any advice!
1 Answer Hi. All the explanation you provided is a timed issue from a control part # WH12X10405. Continuous run of the unit is a shorted controls. You will also need to consider changing the power filter part # WH12X10408. Look at the file sent to assist. I will be here if I can assist you further. Thank You. Read More...
Jon October 22, 2012 for Model Number WCSE6270B2WW My washer is leaking at the bottom of the plastic tub. The water is dripping from the screw that attaches the transmission to the tub. Do I just need to replace the tub seal or what other parts could cause this leak?
1 Answer Jon, There are several parts involved, to perform the repair properly : WH2X1197,WH02X10383,WH2X1199,WH02X10265, It's not a difficult repair, but it's not a thing you want to have to repeat, in a short period of time. Thanks Read More...
Megan October 20, 2012 for Model Number ge top load (model #) My machine fills, spins, & drains but it will not agitate. The agitator spins freely. I've removed the agitator and the coupler spins free but if I lift it 1/8" it catches and doesn't move free. Does this sound like the splines are bad in the coupler?
1 Answer Hello Megan, This is definitely a bad coupler. If you looked it up by your correct model number, the part number you were looking at WH49X10042 is correct. Otherwise, without the model number, nothing can be correctly looked up since everything in the appliance field is model specific. Read More...
Jeff October 15, 2012 for Model Number wccb1030voac ge top loader Can't seem to get the crusty agitator coupler off. machine will not agitate, just spins. Agitator removed. Screw removed. Hint?
1 Answer Jeff, It may be easiest to use a "Dremel Tool" and cut the coupler off the agitator shaft. You could also use a little penetrating oil, down the screw hole opening and a gear puller(after you reinstall the screw) to remove the coupler. Read More...
Jojo September 13, 2012 My GE washer fills, spins and drains but does not agitate. I have removed the agitator and the agitator coupling does agitate back and forth. How do you know if the agitator coupling needs replacing or what do you think is wrong with it?
1 Answer JoJo, You'll need to remove the bolt and lift the coupler off the agitator shaft, and check for damaged splines in the center opening of the underside of the coupler. If the splines are OK, you'll need to make sure you have the agitator snapped and "locked" down on the coupler. The coupler will move with the shaft, without a "load" but with the agitator installed and a load on it, if the coupler is "stripped" the agitator won't move. Read More...
Angela September 02, 2012 for Model Number wbb3300a2ww the washer will not spin or agitate what could be the trouble the belt looks fine
1 Answer Angela, If the motor runs in both the agitate and spin cycles, then we're looking for a bad belt WH1X2026 and / or clutch WH5X256. If the motor does not run in either direction, then we need to consider the control WH12X10225 or motor WH49X10035. Thanks Read More...
Annetta July 17, 2012 for Model Number WBB6700FOGG I am trying to replace the coupling, but can't seem to get it to stay in place. It is very loose. The bolt that came with it does not fit on top of it because when I put the coupling on the transmission, there is a screw like thing sticking up. What am I doing wrong or missing?
1 Answer Hello Annetta, There should be a threaded hole there for your screw to be installed into. If there is a screw thing sticking up there, I would see if it will unscrew out of the hole. The screw head could have been twisted off. If it will not come out, you may have to replace the transmission assembly WH38X10002. This hole has to be present because without it, the agitator will continue to come off with the coupler inside an it is extremely hard to get the coupler out of the bottom of the agitator since it snaps in rather tightly.
