For Ge Washer Agitator Coupler Kit (Part Number: OEM11893914)

Jim for Model Number wcse4160b1ww

The washer agitiator intermittently does not agitate/spin. When I move the agitator back & forth it will reengages and the cycle will continue. The last load it stopped agaitating on the wash cycle and then again during the spin cycle. On both occasions when the agitator was manually moved back & forth the cycle continued to completion. I pulled the agitator off and did not see any obvious problem with the coupler. I did not remove the coupler to inspect the bottom side of it. Any suggedtions?

Hello Gary! If your unit fills with water, and spins, but does not agitate, the most common issues are a failed transmission WH38X10014 or the coupler that goes on top of the transmission, WH40X175. If you need more help troubleshooting your unit, you can visit the repair forum on our website and the techs there could walk you through the diagnostic process. I will include a link in this message. I hope this info helps! http://forum.appliancepartspros.com

Hello Oscar. You will need to remove the bolt in the center of the coupling and pull it upward off the shaft. These are very tight. Hope this helps.

Hello Christabel. If you can stop the water by turning the machine off, then it's a bad pressure switch WH12X10378 or hose WH41X365. You can check the hose for holes and blow through it for cloggs. If you have to turn it off at the waterlines, then it's a bad water valve WH13X10026. Hope this helps.

Hello, we have a few suggestions for you to check. First you will want to make sure the lid switch is functioning part # WH12X10141. You will want to test the switch and make sure you it's testing closed. If that is okay, you will want to look at either the control board or the motor. You can always log on to our repair forum as ask for test procedures on the board and motor: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/. Thanks!
