The Drain Pump and Motor is an original LG (OEM) replacement part for LG made washing machines that is responsible for removing water from the washer at the end of the wash cycle. The pump forces water out through the drain hose so that clothing comes out free of excess water, making the drying process faster.

Symptoms of a failing Drain Pump Motor include:

  • Water not draining out of the washing machine
  • Noisy or unusual sounds coming from the pump area during the drain cycle
  • The washing machine stopping mid-cycle

Causes of a bad Drain Pump Motor can range from obstructions in the pump or hose, which can strain or damage the motor, to wear and tear from regular use leading to motor failure. Electrical issues can also affect the motor's performance, preventing it from operating correctly.

This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Hi Percy. Yes, most of the time when the pump is dry completely you can reuse the pump. In searching L.G. parts breakdown, i cannot find the o-ring requested. The o-ring is only sold with the pump itself. Hint's: You can either momentarily reuse the o-ring by putting some petroleum jelly on it and it will seal for some time. You can go to Ace Hardware and match up the o-ring to either American size or metric size. The pump part # is 4681EA2001T. Hope this helps. Thank you.

Hi Calvin. The pump motors are an" isolated " 120vac non grounded unit. The pumps of this type are synchronous motors without overloads. Is the outlet flapper OK? Is the impeller loose on the pump shaft spinning and giving a low volume output? Thank you.

Hello Mark. The best way to access the pump is to remove the front panel of the machine. You will need to remove the top panel and the control panel. Then remove the spring around the door boot, and the screws holding the front panel on the washer. Then you will be able to access the pump assembly. The part will ship between 10-14 business days after the order is placed. Hope this helps.
