The Door Gasket is an OEM part for LG dishwashers. It forms a watertight seal around the dishwasher door, preventing leaks during the wash cycle. This gasket ensures that water stays inside the dishwasher, promoting efficient cleaning and protecting your kitchen from water damage.

Causes of a bad door gasket can include regular wear and tear, buildup of detergent residue, or damage from closing the door on obstructive items. Over time, the gasket can become brittle or cracked, compromising its sealing capabilities.

Symptoms of a bad door gasket include:

  • Water leaking from the dishwasher door
  • Visible cracks, tears, or deformities in the gasket
  • The dishwasher door not closing properly
  • Increased moisture or puddles around the base of the dishwasher

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Ravi, The number you supplied [3850dd3006a] is not a model number for a dishwasher(looks more like a part number). Please, recheck and verify the model number from the production tag on the dishwasher. Thanks,

Tom for Model Number LG dishwasher LDS4821ST

LG dishwasher LDS4821ST door is leaking at bottom. After searching for several hours for the bottom door gasket (seal) and looking at multiple LG exploded parts diagrams for the door and finding nothing, I finally ran across a YouTube video which explained that LG has made the gasket an integral part of the door. So you must remove and buy the entire door in order to replace just the gasket (very bad LG design). Yeah, I know, I looked at videos of other dishwasher brands on how to replace the bottom door gasket, but none for LG. And the reason is it can't be replaced except to buy a new door. But I can find no documentation that ever mentions this. Any other way to fix this other than buying a new inner door?

Tom, the model provided would not use a lower door gasket. It is recommended that the lower spray arm AGB32598301 is inspected for any cracks or clogged jets as this can create waves in the water that will spill out. It would also be recommended that the water level is inspected once the unit has completed a fill cycle to identify if the water level is too high.

Beth, The channel that the gasket sits in is not available as a separate part but you could replace the gasket for the unit.

Attila, you may want to check to ensure that the unit is draining properly. If there are any partial clogs in the drain system, it can cause water to remain in the unit when it goes to fill for each portion of the cycle. Another item that can be checked is the flow meter. The flow meter can be tested by going to the flow meter located on the left side of the dishwasher near the inlet valve. You will want to test the blue and orange wire for 8-10 k Ohms, and the white and blue wire for 15-30 M Ohms. If the readings don't match up, then you have a bad flow sensor [6501DD2001A]. Otherwise, the inlet valve may not be closing properly either from a bad valve or the control not operating properly.

Attila, With the leak coming from the bottom of the door then this would most likely be caused by a faulty lower door seal. The lower seal would be part of the inner door panel AGM34891603.

Hello KC. There are a few things to check here. First look for a cracked lower spray arm or clogged holes in the lower arm. If all of this is good, then check to see if the unit is over filling with water. If not, then the door liner assembly 4937DD1001D will need to be replaced on the unit.

Hello Shawn. Make sure the gasket 3920DD3005A is installed properly and not to much soap is being used. To much soap will cause the gasket to leak and be a problem.

Hello Tim. Remove the gasket and soak it in hot water for about 15 min in the bath tub. Then re-install the gasket 3920DD3005A and press the door closed and hold it closed tight for about 5 to 10 minutes to form the gasket. It should work properly after this.
