The Gas Valve Assembly is an OEM replacement part for LG gas dryers. It precisely controls the flow of gas to the burner unit during drying cycles.

Symptoms of a faulty gas valve include:

  • Inadequate or inconsistent heating
  • Burner failure to ignite properly
  • Error codes related to gas or pilot light issues

Causes may involve wear and tear of valve seals over extended use, blockages limiting gas flow, or damage like dents that compromise valve integrity.

This authentic LG assembly is compatible with select Kenmore brand models.

1 Answer

Yuriy, If the gas coils on this unit are not getting power then this would be an issue with the main control board of the unit.

Hello Steven, The screw should not be adjusted since this is provided for conversion only. If the flame is too wide there is either a burner 5201EL3001A issue or the unit has been installed without being converted to the correct gas supplied.

Perry, When installing the burner valve it should be set up for Natural gas and should not need any adjustments for it but if you do have to adjust it do adjustment in 1/4 turn increments.

Paul for Model Number LG DLG5932W

LG dryer DLG5932W heat comes on for 2-5 minutes and then the heat stops and the cycle continues for an extended time without drying the clothes. Replaced the high-limit and burner tube thermostats, flame sensor tested OK for continuity, the moisture sensor bars were cleaned and are in good condition, all lint in the machine is removed, and the entire vent line from the blower to outside of house is clean and clear. I measured 1.8k ohms on one of the gas valve coils and the other coil measured open. Do I need to replaced the gas valve assembly? Thank you.

1 Answer

Paul, Yes, you will need to replace the gas valve assembly 5221EL2002A / 5221EL2002A Gas Burner Valve Assembly. " the other coil measured open" has failed and will not release the gas for ignition and heat. The manufacturer doesn't list the gas valve coils as individual/replacement parts, so you'll need the gas valve assembly. The part is in stock and available at this time. Thanks,

Jason, The original orifice will screw all the way in but we do not have information on the adjustment screw and how many turns to make. Would suggest maybe a turn and a half and adjust accordingly.

Nick for Model Number DLGX7601WE

I performed the gas conversion on my new LG turbo-steam gas dryer by installing the propane oriface and adjusting the teflon screw, but that's where I goofed and adjusted the screw down too far, going beyond the factory seal on the lock nut. When it kept screwing down I realized my mistake and backed it off to where I thought it should be for propane. The dryer works and I checked the flame which was blue with slight yellow tips (okay for propane), but sounds kind of loud when ignited. Wondering if I should replace the gas burner valve assembly to be safe, or does the teflon screw adjust the flame?

1 Answer

Nick, If the flames on the unit are good then there would be no need to replace the gas valve on the unit as it is working correctly.

Nick, Unfortunately we are unable to pull up parts for this model and may be because it is a newer model. We would not be able to tell the correct burner assembly replacement due to this.

Nick for Model Number DLG7601WE

I installed the oriface to convert for propane on my new LG dryer but made a mistake by turning the teflon screw down too far on the gas burner valve assembly. I loosened the locking (stop) nut and messed up the factory setting. After backing it out to where I thought it should be I ran the dryer to check the flame. Nice "powerful blue flame with a slight amount of yellow at the tips. Have used the dryer a few times and it seems to operate ok although the flame is louder than my old dryer. Wondering if I should replace the whole burner valve assembly just to be safe?

1 Answer

Hello Nick, It is advisable to replace the gas valve since the yellow tipping and loud flame indicates that the gas is not being completely burned. This causes a very dangerous Carbon Dioxide output from the flame.

Stosh for Model Number 79629272010

Can this valve be damaged by being feed too high of pressure on the incoming natural gas line? I have two gas lines coming into my house. One low pressure and one high pressure. When the plumber installed the new gas valve in the laundry room he hooked it up to the high pressure line. The sympton is that the burners will light from a cold start but won't relight after that. I'm moving the gas feed to the low pressure line but I'm wondering if damage has been done to the gas valve.

1 Answer

Stosh, The gas valve should not get damaged by a higher than normal pressure. This would not have a diaphragm that would get damaged. You will want to see if you are able to light the burner with a match. If you are the valve is not the issue and will want to check to make sure that the switches are good and that the orfices are not clogged.

Ray, You will want to test both the thermal fuse and high limit thermostat on the heater housing. These would be the most likely cause for this issue.
