Causes of a bad rotor assembly can include heavy use over time, imbalance in loads leading to excessive strain, or damage from foreign objects.

Symptoms of a bad rotor assembly include:

  • Washer not spinning or agitating properly
  • Loud noises or grinding sounds during operation
  • The washer stopping mid-cycle
  • Error codes related to motor function

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Lg Rotor Assembly (Part Number: OEM15647025)

Hello Dave, a squeal in spin may be a problem with the tub to shaft seal 4036ER2004A, since you have already replaced the bearings and spider arm.

I finally realized the problem with my Kenmore Elite front load washer not spinning was: the teeth on the plastic rotor hub were completely worn down. Rather than order the whole rotor assembly, I sourced just the hub (steel-reinforced in the center) elsewhere. Installed and tested, but rotor kept knocking against the bolts that secure the stator. Appears the replacement rotor hub was a different thickness than the old one -- slightly thinner so didn't provide clearance between rotor fins and stator bolts. Obviously, I will now order the whole assembly from here, but is it the case that the hubs come in varying thicknesses?

1 Answer

Kelly, Yes, each manufacturer may have a different thickness in the rotator than others. This can also vary from machine to machine.

Lynda, You will want to check the spider of the unit to make sure that it is not broken. If the spider is broken it will need to be replaced. The part number for the spider will be 4434ER0002H.

Hello Dean! Unfortunately, parts are not available separate from the rotor assembly. Sorry about that!
