Steve June 21, 2013 for Model Number wm0642hw Following up with further information on my washer. I have a Model Number WM0642HW /01 S/N 905KWRE00582. Trying to verify the proper part number for the replacement rotor. Steve
Steve June 21, 2013 for Model Number WM0642HW I am trying to verify which part I need to order. I have a WM0642HW that has a stripped rotor. I have found a couple of different part numbers for this washer and also read that there is a replacement part that has metal splines on the rotor instead of the current plastic splines. Your help will be much appreciated.
1 Answer Hello Steve! To verify the replacement rotor assembly we'll need the product code and serial number to your washer. Please verify this information and repost for further assistance. Thank you. Read More...
Mike February 19, 2013 I have an LG front loader. It began making a metal grinding noise. After some research I replaced the hall sensor. That did not affect it. The noise I was hearing sounded like a grind. I then replaced the stater and rotor and I still have the same grinding noise. When I remove the rotor I can spin the center spline freely. The bearing has no play or grease and it does spin with out noise. I don't encounter the noise until the rotor is in place. In addition when I install the rotor and I tighten the center bolt it hits on the hall sensor pushing it off of the stater. I don't understand how the rotor can even touch the hall sensor. Even with the new replacements this still rings true. Any suggestions.
1 Answer Mike, Based on the information provided, you will want to pull the inner tub and check the spider/spindle on the tub for broken welds and check outer tub bearings for wear. It sounds like the inner tub is flexing causing the rotor and stator to wobble. Read More...
Harry N December 15, 2012 for Model Number WM2277HB Hello. My LG Frontloading washer has now started to make a loud whining noise when in the spin cycle. It seems when you manually turn the drum, squeaking seems to come from the rotor assembly. Any ideas?
1 Answer Hello Harry. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the tub bearings are bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Pat B. August 25, 2012 for Model Number WM2301HR It apears that the spline in the center of the rotor assembly is a bolt-in part. Can this be purchased without buying the entire rotor assembly?

Scott June 10, 2012 for Model Number WM0642HW I need to replace the rotor assembly. The plastic splines are all sheared off. The bearing seems to be in very good condition. My question is about the center bolt. It will loosen and tighten as the drum spins. Is this happening because the plastic splines are sheared or do I have another underlying problem going on?
1 Answer Hello Scott, The missing splines will assist the bolt to loosen up a lot, but the bolt should also have Locktite 242 59133109 on the threads. I doubt that there is an underlying problem. Read More...
Danny April 13, 2012 for Model Number WM0642HW The plastic teeth are stripped out on my rotor assembly. Does this indicate possibly another problem with bearings, etc., to cause the teeth to strip. I can spend the tub, it spends freely and I do not see loose motion or excess grease on the outer bearing that is visible. I have heard a noise the last couple of weeks during the spin cycles. Any ideas? Could the noise be caused by the rotor assembly?
1 Answer Hello Danny. It sounds like the bearings 4280EN4001C and 4280EN4001F are bad and are causing the issues. You will need to replace the bearing and the rotor. Hope this helps. Read More...
