This is a spider arm assembly for washing machines. Another name for the spider is the rear tub support because it provides support for the outer tub. The spider has three legs that are approximately 10 inches long each. washing machines might need a new spider arm assembly if it is very noisy, if it shakes excessively while running, if the drum is emitting burning smells at high speeds, or if it is smoking. If upon visual inspection, the spider arm assembly is rusted or corroded, it will need to be replaced. The dryer drum may appear to have cracks, but this is how it is manufactured during the casting process. This is a genuine LG part and is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is sold individually. This specific spider arm assembly is compatible with washing machines that are LG and Kenmore manufacture.

Hello Julie, This actually sounds like the hot and cold water lines may be crossed. If not, there is an issue with the wiring or the control EBR78263901. I'm sorry but since there are programs in the control that monitor the water temperature, the wash temperatures cannot be adjusted.

Dana for Model Number wm2350hrc

Lots of smoke - first from the soap dispenser, then from the drum when we opened it. washer seems to work fine though. it was during a sanitary load where the heater is used... could this be it? I don't see *any* talk about that so maybe it's the spider and it's just not bad enough unless the loads big?? I'm confused. also - does the spider part listed have the drive pin thing as part of it? is there a kit where I can order the spider assembly (including drive pin and seal) or do I buy each individually? thanks, Dana.

Hello Dana. The bearings are bad and it is rubbing the boot on the front of the unit. You will need to replace both outer tubs and the spider on the unit and the boot if it is damaged as well.

Pax_In_Ma for Model Number LG WM2016CW

Looks like the spider on our LG WM2016CW broke. I have not taken the machine apart yet but 1) the tub is not staying in place, 2) we got the burnt smell others have been talking about so am pretty sure it is the spider. The washer stopped working while spinning a load. I can not power on the washer anymore and am wondering if there could be more damaged than the spider, seal, bearings or is it normal for the washer not to power on when the spider is broken and the tub is dangling? What do you think? Thanks!

Hello PAX_in_MA. Yes, it sounds like more is damaged than just the spider. The unit should still come on even with the spider damaged. You will need to check all wiring and the boards on the unit also. Make sure it didn't trip the break as well.

Mike, Unfortunately we do not have the outside dimensions of the spider on the unit. We are unable to determine this based off pictures and we are not at the warehouse where we can measure it.

Joe, You will want to check to make sure that there is not water trickling into the dispenser as the unit is going through the cycle. This would be the most likely cause for water to be in the detergent dispenser. Possible water valve issue.

Hello Candie. Soak the bolts with some rust buster TJ93241 or PB Blaster to see if it helps to remove them from the unit.

Hello Randy. Sorry, they do not offer the bolts for the spider. Check your local hardware store. They may be able to match them up.
