Hello Ethel. The only other issue would be the wiring harness being bad going to the door lock. You need to check the wiring harness on the unit.

Bearing were bad in my unit, so I replaced bearings, seals, stator wiring harness and position sensor. The rotor and stator were very dirty with rust. I cleaned them with water and a light brushing and let it dry for at least 4 days. Got the whole unit back together and ran a speed load empty. She seemed a little jerky in the wash and rinse cycle ans never really got into a spin. I ran a second load and now she won't spin in a wash cycle. Did I ruin my stator and is so should the rotor as well or is that good. I got no error codes, she just does not spin. Also, you can hand spin with no problem.

VB, With washing the stator with water then you will need to replace the stator. It would be recommended to replace the rotor as well.

Hello Wally. No, there is no overload in the motor on the unit. However, if the motor is dragging, it can read that and will shut down.

Jeremy, First check and make sure there are no loose connections or broken wires between the main control board and the stator and motor. Remove and check the rotor and stator, make sure there aren't any cracks or breaks in the wires on the stator, or that it is warped or bent when mounted. Check for the proper resistance (8 to 11 ohms) of the stator windings: 1,yellow to 2,blue, 1yellow to 3,red, and 2,blue to 3,red . If all checks are proper and OK, the control board is not sending or receiving the information from the sensor or stator, and will need to be replaced.

Our LG washer model WM2277HB would constantly give an LE error. I replace the Stator assembly part # 4417FA1994G. After doing so the washer worked for a couple of cycles, but then started giving the LE error again. I have removed power for 24 hours or more, but as soon as I start another cycle (even Rinse and Spin), the LE error is back. If it's not the Stator assembly, what part should I look at replacing next or should I just look for a new washer? This washer is about 6 years old.

Cc for Model Number wm227hb

My LG Tromm model WM2277HB started flashing an LE error and the drum will not spin. I have replaced the Stator and Hall sensor. Once replaced the washer worked for a couple of washes after reseting but now is displaying the LE error again even after power is disconnected for 24 hours or more. All other functions of the washer seems to working. Thought about replacing the control PCB board but not sure if it will fix the issue. Any advice you can give me would be great.

1 Answer

CC, You will want to double check to make sure that the stator is installed where it is not leaning to one direction or another. Check the harness going to the hall sensor and back to the control board for loose or broken wires. If this all checks ok then the control board would most likely be the failure.

Liz, Yes, this is correct. The LE error code is an indication that the hall sensor has failed and needs to be replaced.

Bob R for Model Number wm2277hw

My LG acted like the motor would lock up or be overloaded. Eventually it gave me the infamous "LE" code. The suggestion was to test the stator and if it was ok, to replace the hall sensor. Which I ordered and installed. Now the motor does turn but it grinds and sounds overloaded and is making the stator smoke. I immediately disconnected the unit and tested the stator. It was hot but tested out 7 ohms on each leg. Now what the harness checks good. The control unit?. Any help owuld be appreciated.

1 Answer

Bob, You will want to double check the installation of the stator and hall sensor. If the parts are not lined up properly or leaning a little it will cause the stator to grind and smoke.

Hello Charles. Changing out the stator is not a difficult job. You would remove the rear cover of unit and remove the stator and rotor.
