For Lg Washer Stator Assembly (Part Number: OEM16787070)

Chibe for Model Number wm2277hw

I have a Lg washer about five years old and it is in a very good shape. It stop working and I open at the back of the machine and push the drum four time and the machine wash five load. The next morning it went to the same problem. I replace the hall sensor. Now the machine does not agitate, or spin or wash the clothes. I follow the yellow, red and blue wires from the control board, I cant seems to get 120 come out. I unplug the wire harness and check the ac, I was not able to get 120 volt.

Hi Chibe. You are on the right track. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. What code's are showing now? Disconnect the motor connector and measure the terminal resistance. From pin # 1-2 , # 2-1 and # 3-1 you need to have 5-15 ohm resistance. If the measurements are different then these, replace the stator part # 4417FA1994G. Drive Motor Stator Assembly - This front load washer drive motor stator includes the rotor position sensor switch (RPS). For the RPS switch only order 6501KW2002B. Thank you.

Murray for Model Number LG WM0532HW

My LG front load gives me an LE error code, I replaced the stator hall sensor, inspected the the magnets and all look good. The stator ohms out at 8 ohms on all 3 windings. I ohm’d out all the wires to the stator and sensor from the control board. It does work sometimes, if I put a meter on the control PCB at the motor connector when it works I get 50 to 70 volts AC, but while monitoring the voltage when it errors I see the meter go from 1.2 volts to 2 volts and a few seconds later it errors. The motor does not hum or vibrate so it appears it is not getting the voltage to turn. My recir pump is very noisy but it apprear to be working fine as I can see the water cascading down the front door. Do I have a bad control board or is the stator bad, or could it be the recir pump giving me a pressure fault. Thanks

Hello Murray. Based on the voltage readings you got, it sounds like the control board 6871ER1023R is at fault and will need to be replaced in the unit.

Bev for Model Number WM2032HS

I was doing wash and several times restarted machine after in went into LE code (motor overload). A technician replaced the sensor less than a year ago. Now the LE code is back and the machine fills then when it should start washing it just sits and makes a humming and soft clicking noise for a while and nothing happens, the tub does not start to move or spin. I removed the stator/motor part with the sensor attached and thought I would just buy a new motor but your previous similar questions seem to suggest it is the sensor or the control panel and not the motor. Any ideas what this is. I do not want to start replacing parts on a 7 year old machine when I may be better off to just go out and buy a new machine for $500-600. Is 7 years for this type of appliance the trouble zone as soon as warranty expires?

Hello Bev. Based on the error code. You will need to check and make sure none of the magnets on the rotor are cracked. If not, you will need to replace the stator assembly 4417FA1994G on the unit.

Hi Greg. Remove the back wall. is the rotor center bolt tight ? If so then you need to remove the rotor and see if the inner magnets are cracked, use a magnifying glass. Check the wires going to the stator motor and the RPS sensor part # 6501KW2002B. It is a common issue at times. This part has been upgraded. Use a volt/ohm meter to see if the motor windings ohm out between 5-15 ohms on all 3 windings. looking at the winding terminal it reads from lt. to rt. #3 , #2 , #1 . From 1-2, from 2-3, from 3-1 : About 5-15 ohms. not open(infinity) or shorted (0)ohms. If so then the stator is part # 4417FA1994G. Thank You.

Paul, The "LE" error code, on your machine indicates and issue in the motor and is usually due to ba faulty sensor assembly6501KW2002B or main control board 6871ER1023R. You can test the stator to start, disconnect the stator wiring and test all the terminals to each other, there should be a resistance reading of 5 to 15 ohms, that will varify if the stator itself is at fault. Check for loose connections at the RPS sensor and the nmain control board. If all's OK, replace the RPS sensor first. Good Luck and Thanks

Hello Jared. The CE code is for: Over current error. Caused by an obstruction in between tubs, too many clothes, too much detergent, wrong detergent. Clean out soap dispenser, remove lodged items. Lessen clothing in tub make sure tub turns free. If all is good, replace the stator assembly 4417FA1994G. Hope this helps.

David for Model Number WM0532HW

The washer will fill with water and starts ok. But during the wash when the drum rotates, it shifts back and forth or it will rotate in one direction and will stop with LE code. It also makes a funny noise when the drum is in motion. A service tech replaced the sensor on the drive motor stator assembly but I am still getting the LE code. He said I will probably need to replace both the drive motor stator assembly and the rotor assembly. Does that sound right?

1 Answer

Hello Mike. Check and make sure the wiring harness and the magnets in the rotor are not cracked. Either one will cause the LE code. If both are good, then you will need to replace the stator 4417FA1994G. Hope this helps.
