This pressure switch assembly monitors the washer's tub water level and signals the control to fill, drain, and advance cycles properly. Replacing a faulty switch restores accurate water level sensing for reliable washing performance.

  • Senses air pressure from the tub to determine water level
  • Helps prevent overfilling and underfilling
  • Common failure symptoms: overfills or won't fill, won't advance to spin/drain, drains continuously, or shows a PE (water level sensor) error
  • Can cause intermittent cycle stops when readings are inaccurate
What's included: One pressure switch assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and turn off water supply before servicing
  • Access is typically from the top/console area; note hose and connector positions
  • Inspect/clear the pressure hose; ensure it's not cracked, kinked, or blocked
  • Seat the hose fully on the barb and reconnect the wire harness securely; test a fill cycle for proper operation

Gerald, There is not a fault code showing for this unit of an EF error. In most cases if there is an unknown error code that comes up would be a faulty control board.

Kyle for Model Number WM2277HW

Replaced a defective cold water valve and now a different problem has surfaced. The load will start properly, valves open/shut properly, can shut off by turning power or pause, then 5-6 minutes into the cycle the water continually runs and can only be shut off by turning off the water at the source. Been through the cycles twice the first time a FE code was displayed, the second time system was shut down before letting the system code. Need direction on what to check to resolve problem. Thanks

Kyle, You will want to check to see if the water shuts off when power to the unit is terminated. If it continues to run then the valve that is on is faulty and would need to be replaced. If the water does shut off then the issue would be in the main control board sending power to the valve when not required.

Jj J for Model Number WM2650HWA

My LG washer, model WM2650HWA, will not automatically drain the inlet water from the tub. The machine stays in the "Washing" cycle and, while agitating, continues to fill up over half the tub. During this the "estimated time remaining" never changes. I can get the tub to drain by continually putting it in the first part of the "Spin Only" cycle. After some researched I've cleared out all possible inlet and outlet hoses and drain filter, checked I have correct specs on the drain hose and pipe including an air-gap, and unplugged and restarted the machine. I've also taken the top off and cleaned out the pressure hoses. No luck with any attempts thus far. With all that, is it the pressure switch that is faulty? Could there be another part that has gone bad? Appreciate the help

JJ J, Based on the information provided, the issue does sound like it would be caused by a faulty pressure switch not allowing the unit to register that it is full.

Raymond, You will want to check the pressure switch hose to make sure that it is not clogged. Also check the water valve screens to ensure that the screen is not clogged which would also cause a filling issue. Access the tech sheet that comes with the unit and check to see if there are any stored error codes.

John for Model Number WM3677HW

I recently purchased a used washer dryer combo WM3677HW. The unit washes just fine but the dry cycle has issues. When in dry cycle the tub will fill up with water and soak clothes. It will continue to fill up until the tub overflows out of the front door and continues until i shut off the unit. I've read that it can be a bad inlet valve that's allowing too much water. I was wondering if this can be linked to the washing machine water level sensor 6601er1006e. If anyone has any help, please let me know, John

1 Answer

Hello John. If power stops the water, replace the board. If you have to turn off the water, you will need to replace the water valve on the unit.

Hello Robert. It sounds like the unit is siphoning out the water in the unit. Check and make sure there is only 6" of drain hose in the drain pipe. Also, make sure the drain pipe is 36" off the floor in height. You will need to check and make sure the drain hose has an air gap going into the drain pipe. If it is air tight, it will siphon.
