Questions & Answers

For Lg Electric Range High Temperature Thermostat (Part Number: OEM13331457)

1 Answer

Jimmy, Check the oven sensor for resistance of 1080 ohms at room temperature and then again at 350 for 1654 ohms. If the sensor is good then the issue will be the control board for the unit.

Paul, the thermostat is located on the back of the range. Unfortunately, you need to remove the entire back panel as there are no small access panels for just the thermostat.

Steve, based on the information provided, with the power cord unplugged from the outlet, the bake and broil wires will need to be tested for continuity to ground. If there is continuity to ground, then the wires will need to be disconnected from the elements and the elements tested to ground. If an element has continuity to ground, it will need to be replaced. If a wire tests continuity to ground, it will need to be inspected for a bare spot and repaired. If there is no continuity, then the main control EBR74632605 would need to be replaced.

Tom for Model Number LMV1831ST

We have had this LG over the range microwave for about 5 years. We have never had an issue with it until about a year ago when the vent fan would come on when we were boiling water on the stove. I understand that this is a built in safety feature, but it is odd that it never happened during the previous 4 years we owned it even though we had boiled and cooked many times on the stove below. Now, the vent fan is turning on randomly even though there is nothing hot or even remotely warm below. The only way to shut it off is to unplug it and let it sit for awhile before plugging it back in.

Tom, The thermostats are the most likely issue, You'll need to check both thermostats the one on the base and the one on the side of the magnetron, either one could be the issue. Check the circuit across the terminals at room temperature, then heat it with boiling water or a hairdryer and check for the change in the circuit, let it cool and recheck the circuit, and make sure they "reset". You may also want to check for signs of moisture or condensation developing inside the control panel area and on the printed circuit board/control board.

John, There are two thermostats that open and are nonresettable. One is on the magnetron and is part number 6930W1A003X, and part number 6930W1A003K. These devices will open the circuit when high heat is detected. Check both of these for continuity and looking for a closed circuit. The unit will need to be uninstalled and outer cabinet removed. Use caution there are parts in the high voltage side that hold over 2000 volts even when the unit is unplugged.

Coeeado, you can test the convection motor to see if the fan motor is bad. With the power disconnected, you can test the motor for resistance and it should read 37 ohms. If it does not read 37 ohms, then the motor is bad [EAU61865301]. If it has the proper resistance, then you will want to do a voltage test by plugging the appliance back in and running the convection setting and testing for 120VAC at the gray wire on the motor. If there is not 120VAC going to the motor, then you have a bad relay board [EBR77562702].

Allison, there are several areas for you to check. Make sure your door switches are working properly, check the cavity thermostat if the microwave will not come on or light up. It could be a control board that is not sending proper voltage to the transformer. See if there is a tech sheet tucked in behind the control board, it will help you trace down circuits and check different functions.

Robert, You will want to check the cavity Thermal cut off to make sure that it has continuity and if it does not then it will need to be replaced. This will be the most likely cause for this issue.
