Lisa August 24, 2018 for Model Number DV5451AEW/XAA Dryer runs but won't produce heat. I replaced thermostat, thermistor and thermal fuse. Still no heat (great how-to videos, by the way!) Should I try the thermal fuse assembly? Suggestions? No one will service a Samsung dryer in my area, so I am on my own!
1 Answer Lisa, make sure you check to see if you are getting 240 volts to the dryer via the terminal block. Check for continuity through the heating element, and any thermal fuses. Read More...
Chris July 23, 2018 I bought a Samsung DC96-00887A fuse. Is it possible to install the fuse in backwards or does it matter which way it goes? I still know which way the wires go. Thanks
1 Answer Chris, it does not matter which way the fuse is turned or which wire goes where, it is a bi-directional fuse. Read More...
David April 03, 2018 for Model Number DV5451AEW/XAA My dryer is over drying the clothes and giving a he code instead of shutting off at the end of the cycle time. I replaced the thermistor and that did not solve the problem. Is the next step the thermal fuse or the thermostat?
1 Answer David, Replacing the thermistor should have resolved the "HE" code problem. The thermal fuse would eliminate power to the heater element, and there'd be no heat at all. The thermostat isn't likely, but a remote possibility. First check to make sure the exhaust vent and vent hood are clean and has no restrictions, make sure the operational vent length is in range(installation manual). If all's OK, you'll need to access the control board and check the thermistor resistance at the control board wire harness. Disconnect harness and test Blue wire Pin 3 to Red wire Pin 6. Approx 10 KO at 25 °C/77 °F. this way you can check the thermistor and the wiring all at the same time. If all checks are OK, then you'll need to replace the control board. Read More...
Calvin September 13, 2017 for Model Number DV220AEW/XAA Samsung sensor dry dryer is plugged up but wont power On?The dryer stopped working during power outage while there was a thunder storm.
1 Answer Hello Calvin. If there is power to the main board DC92-00123C and nothing comes on, you will need to replace the board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Phil B September 01, 2017 for Model Number DV350AEW/XAA 1st issue: I replaced the Dryer Heating Element because dryer was running but no heat produced. I followed your video and replaced, put the machine back together, hit start and within 2 seconds machine stopped working and front panel lights went out and have yet to come back on. It went from not heating, to not working. the only thing that I did different and hopefully didn't screw it up more is that when removing part 1-9 it cracked, I continued without it, could that have caused a short, and what would you suggest I do to get this machine up and running. Have 3 kids under 6yo, wife currently hates me. haha. thank you very much.
1 Answer Phil, Cracking the insulator should not cause this issue. With this issue that you are having it would be recommended to test the thermal fuse on the unit to make sure that it is good. Read More...
Doniel December 27, 2016 for Model Number DV45H7000EW/A2-0000 Replaced the thermal fuse when the dryer was not heating but still running. It worked for a few loads then stopped heating again. What would cause the fuse to blow?
1 Answer Doniel, With the thermal fuse blowing again it would be likely that the high limit thermostat is faulty or the relay for the heat circuit is stuck closed and the main board would need to be replaced. Read More...
John September 08, 2016 for Model Number DV5471AEP/XAA Hello, the dryer keeps running (tumbling) all the time when the door is closed. I can hit the Power button, Pause button, etc. and the dryer still runs. I replaced the heating element because there was no heat originally, and now the heat kicks on when I run a cycle (and stops heating when the cycle ends), but the dryer keeps tumbling. Thoughts?
1 Answer Hello John. You will need to replace the main control board DC92-00322E on the unit. Read More...
Kathleen July 12, 2016 for Model Number DV419AEW/XAA-0000 Does this part come with the fuse in it? I got the fuse that attaches to the motor, not the blower housing, and that did not do the fix so I think it is this one. Dryer runs, spins and all electronics function, but does not generate heat.
1 Answer Kathleen, Yes this thermal fuse would be the most likely cause for the unit to not heat. If you have a multi meter then you could test this for continuity to determine if it is bad. It should have continuity. Read More...
Colleen March 04, 2016 for Model Number DV419AEW/XAA My Samsung will not start. There is power and a faint click, but not starting cycle. Any information is helpful. Thanks Much
1 Answer Colleen, You will want to test the thermal fuse on the blower housing to make sure that there is continuity on it. If this checks ok then the most likely cause of failure would be the main control board. Read More...
Arturo January 02, 2016 for Model Number DV330AEW/XAA Dryer will start, run for about 10 seconds, then stops. I hear a small "click" before it stops. If I wait long enough, I hear another small click. I can power off, power on, and repeat the same behavior.
1 Answer Hello Arturo, This sounds like the overload on the motor is tripping. Check for anything opposing the rotation of the drum. If the drum rollers DC97-16782A and idler pulley DC93-00634A spin freely, the issue is most likely in the motor assembly DC31-00055D. Read More...
