Darin July 29, 2020 for Model Number DA97-13718C I purchased this replcaement icemaker and sealed up all the cracks in my Samsung and after 12 hours i still do not have ice. What else could be the problem.
1 Answer Darin, You will need to make sure there is no ice built up around the fan in the auger assembly. This would prevent the ice maker area from cooling cold enough to cycle the ice maker. Read More...
Rosanna July 01, 2020 for Model Number RF23M8570SG/AA-00 I previously had warranty service for my ice maker where water was leaking out the front dispenser and pooling inside. Ice it not fully formed. It seems as if a plastic piece of the inside ice bucket that provides a 'seal' to the where the ice exits has broken. If I replace the bucket, will that solve my problem? There seems to be other issues with these ice makers.
1 Answer Rosanna, There is no seal inside the ice bin that will keep air from migrating in. The ice door, if it is not closing all the way would cause this type of issue. Also, check the seal on the door where it would meet the ice bin for being damaged. Read More...
Kc October 07, 2019 for Model Number DA97-13178A ICE Maker in Refrigerator Model # RF23J9011SR Is this the newer designed ice maker that fixes the freeze up issues
1 Answer KC, the ice maker DA97-18859A is the most up to date version of this ice maker, however, it alone would not prevent the frost build-up issue. The ice build-up is caused by an air leak that is commonly found in the seam between the ice cabin and the wall of the refrigerator. This air leak can be sealed with the food-grade RTV sealant DA81-05595A and the clip assembly DA82-02367A would be used to assist in defrosting the airflow channel. Read More...
Scott Rigsby May 06, 2019 for Model Number DA97-13718A Our Samsung DA97-13718A ice maker makes ice. However, the ice does not seem to be completely frozen and there is water dripping from inside the ice maker housing. Bin that slides in does engage and seem to be sealed, so I don't think it is from the bin not sealing. Why would the ice not freeze all the way?
1 Answer Scott, To be able to assist with your question properly we will need to have the model number of your refrigerator. Please repost a new question with the model number of the refrigerator so that we can assist properly. Read More...

Jacque June 17, 2018 for Model Number RF22KREDBSR/AA We recently purchased the replacement ice maker; DA97-13718 "C" that replaces the "A" that came with our fridge. There is a slight shape difference on one end, and 2 metal tabs that were not on the original part. Is there a trick to making the replacement fit? Thanks.
1 Answer Jacque, There is no trick to installing this part and you would just reinstall the same way that it came out. Read More...
Rick April 08, 2018 for Model Number samsung rf23hcedbsr/aa The ice maker does not appear to stop making ice when full. It then freezes up were the cubes come out. Thaw it out and all works well until the bucket overflows again. I don't see a mechanical bucket level/full switch. What is the fix?
1 Answer Rick, With the ice bin overfilling then this will most likely be caused by a faulty icemaker assembly and will need part number DA97-18859A. Read More...

Jim L February 23, 2018 for Model Number RF23HCEDBWW/AA-0000 I'm having recurring ice maker problems. On a regular basis, a large chunk of ice forms at the top of ice maker (comprised of ice cubes and run-off water). This blocks/stops the unit from making any new ice. We do not see the problem until the ice bin is empty. The remedy is to chip out the big chunk of ice at the top, chip off the ice that's formed on the bottom/rear of the ice maker (PN DA97-13718A) and then reset the unit. This works and the unit resumes making ice until it jams again (2 -3 weeks). Is replacing the ice maker assembly a reasonable start to a permanent repair? Thanks!
1 Answer Jim, This issue sounds like it would be that the unit is putting too much water into the icemaker and would most likely be a issue with the water valve trickling. If this is the case then the water valve would need replaced. Read More...
