The door will not stay latched, and it appears that the cause is simply that the latch mechanism will not engage when the door is closed (almost surely caused by a problem with the spring). However, all of the sites I have visited show the spring "discontinued" or "unavailable". How do I obtain a replacement spring?

1 Answer Barbara, You will need to open the door and check to see if there is a damaged or loose spring 6107-001175 that would be causing the issue or if it is the door key DE64-00760A. To access you will need to remove the inner panel of the door. You do this by inserting a flat screw driver into the gap between the inner and outer door and popping the inner door out from the outer door. You will then need to remove the inner part of the door to do this you will insert a thin metal plate in several locations behind the inner door and outer door until you hear a tick sound. The insertion should only be .5 mm or less to release. Once this is done to remove the key door and spring you would remove pin hinge from the door and detach the spring form the door and key. When I saw a light coming from my kitchen I found it standing open. The door latch is loose and there is no latching mechanism working therefore door will not close. I think it needs a spring because I went to Lowe's where I purchased it and the man told me the spring would need to be replaced. Can I buy one for it.
