Lorenzo April 04, 2019 for Model Number WF448AAP/XAA-0000 Hi, the washer was working fine. Then heard a loud bang followed by the sound of something snapping like a belt. Went to check on the washer and the drum had stopped spinning. I looked inside and there was little bit of smoke. I turned the washer on again and the motor sounds like its running but the washer won't spin. Does this model has belt that needs to be change or does it work differently. Thank you in advance. Lorenzo
1 Answer Lorenzo, there is not a belt on this washer. It sounds like you have broken the spinner support that holds the drive basket. This would require a total overhaul of the washing machine tub and support. You would need to replace the spinner, DC97-14421A, and the rear portion of the outer tub, DC97-14604D Read More...
David October 18, 2018 for Model Number WF410ANW/XAC Hi - I recently replaced the flange shaft assembly- and other related items (Tub seal, spider bolts etc). Washer was working fine prior to flange shaft assembly repair other than big unbalance due to one of the arms being broken. Went to start the washer after re-assembly, it turns on, display panel looks normal (no error codes) , there a few of the usual clicks for the door, and maybe water flowing, then when the drum should start a few rotations it only rotates maybe an inch and stops, then seems to try and rotate again, but only rotates an inch or so and stops. This goes on for a few min until it stops and displays no error codes on the LED display panel. The Drum turns freely and smooth by hand. Any suggestions on what to check?
1 Answer David, You will need to make sure that the rotor is in place properly and that there is no wiring issue with the stator and RPS sensor. Read More...
Anthony October 04, 2015 for Model Number WF419AAU/XAA-0000 Washer noticed to not spin but drains. When I close the door can hear the motor humm but does not spin.
1 Answer Anthony, The first thing you will want to check is the door lock assembly to ensure that it is working properly. It would not be an issue of whether it locks but there is a spin enable switch that may be bad and the door lock assembly may need to be replaced. Read More...
Clark September 17, 2015 for Model Number WFA410ANR/XAA 01 Washer will not spin. If it does spin it spins very slowly. If you start a cycle the water does not start.
1 Answer Clark, You will want to make sure that there is power getting to the water valve when the washer starts. If there is no power then the issue will be a faulty control board. If there is power then the water valve is faulty. For the issue of the unit spinning slowly, check to make sure that the door is locked and that the unit is draining all the water out of it. If not then it could cause the slow spin. If the water is draining and the units door is locked then test the motor circuit for possible loose wiring , corroded wiring, etc. Read More...
