This pump packing service assembly replaces the worn packing and seals on the pump to help stop leaks and restore normal pump operation. It's a direct-fit service kit for pumps that use a replaceable packing unit. What it does:

Can reduce shaft-related pump noise caused by worn or damaged packing

On your question and answer , you said that the replacement part for drain pump assembly on model wa400pjhdwr/aa was DC97-17349b. But everytime I type that part # on your compatibility section it says its not compatible. So what is the correct replacement part for model WA400PJHDWR/AA. I'm afraid to order the wrong part.

Paul, based on your model number you'll need replacement pump svc kit part number DC98-01877B. This is a manufacturer replacement part and may differ in appearance but is a functional equivalent to the original. Thanks.

The pump assembly housing broke causing water to drain all over the floor. Now AP5669334 is not available to replace the broken part. Now what do we do? The machine is only about 18-24 months old.

I understand Samsung washer pump part # DC97-16985A is no longer available and replaced by a upgrade kit part # DC98-01877A. I do not understand why I would need to replace the wire harness supplied with the kit. Could I just extend the wires to the pump after relocation. Thanks, John Boy

John Boy, With the manufacturer making a design change, there would also be a change in the wiring. You will want to replace the wire harness per the manufacturers instructions.
