Questions & Answers

For Samsung Washer Drain Pump (Part Number: OEM16750632)

1 Answer

Henry, if the back panel of the console is removed along with the control cover, the voltage output to the drain pump DC97-19289F can be tested during a drain and spin cycle. At the 6-wire connector (CN1), the black wire at pin 4 would be tested for 120VAC to the yellow wire at pin 1 of the 3-wire connection to the right of it (CN8). If there was no voltage at all, the main control DC92-02636A has failed. If there is voltage and the drain pump is not operating, the wires would need to be checked for any breaks or pinched sections. If the wires check ok, the drain pump has failed. However, if the drain pump did turn on, the water would need to be drained out manually after unplugging the power cord to inspect the hoses for any clogs. If there are no clogs, the drain pump has failed.

My top load Samsung washer stopped draining tonight in the middle of a wash cycle. Flashed an ND code. I shut it off then back on and set it on the spin setting. The drum turns a few times then stops and I hear and feel a vibration in the machine. I have read other questions about this and it says to check for a blockage in the drain line. Is this just the hose on the back of the washer or are there other drain hoses under the unit? If there is not a blockage present then does the vibration indicate a failed pump? Do you have a video on this model washer for replacing the pump? Would I just replace the pump or should I replace the pump housing and check valve as well? Thank you.

Kevin, Check the drain pump for clogs and any associated drain hoses. If there are no clogs then test to make sure that there is 120 VAC getting to the drain pump. If there is then this will be a faulty drain pump which will need to be replaced.

Tom for Model Number Samsung WA422PRHDWR/AA

After cleaning up the mess of a flooded 2nd story room and the wet ceiling on the floor below it, I found the plastic housing broken and drain pump disconnected (I have since read that this is a VERY common thing).I reconnected the drain pump, however when I turn the unit on to test, the drain runs continuously and sounds pretty rough. Is a new drain pump the answer, or what other potential fixes? Testing the other cycles seem to be normal, but the drain pump does not stop for any of them. It is successfully draining, Just never stopping. Thanks.

Tom, This issue does sound like it would be a drain pump that is needing to be replaced on the unit but will also want to check the pressure switch for being good and check the pressure hose for potential clogging.

Jonny, With the drain pump continuing to run throughout the cycle and when in the off position then this would be a issue with the main control board. The main control board part number would be DC92-01021A.

Hello Felix. Make sure there are no clogs and if not, replace the pump. It is bad.

Scott, You will want to check the wiring to drain pump to make sure that there are no pinched or damaged wires. If the wiring checks ok then make sure that all wiring was connected properly. If this checks ok then the issue would be in the control board.
