Melissa, If it is the surface indicator light then it would most likely be the switch that is the problem and if it is the hot surface indicator then the element would be the issue.

Steve, it would be recommended that the infinite switch DG44-01003A is tested for 240VAC from terminal 2 to terminal 4 when the switch is turned on. If there is voltage, the failure would be in the triple heater element DG47-00065A. If there is not 240VAC, the failure is in the switch.

James, On an infinite switch, you will have to hot wires. The red wire is the L2 side and the Black wire is the L1 side. The indicator light is on the L1 side of the circuit so the black wire is the hot side for the switch.

Paul for Model Number Samsung range FTQ352IWX

I just finished watching a video. The instructor says to take a picture of the original wiring to the switch to make it easy to duplicate the wiring positions on the replacement switch (new replacement grey version). I notice however, that the blue and purple/grey wires are reversed in the instructors video (blue at position 4 and purple/grey at 2. The advise on this blog seems to be very clear that the blue wire remains at position 2 and the purple/grey wire at position 4. A clarification on this would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Paul, the wires would go to the same position as they were on the original switch. As there are many models, a repair video would be used as a general guideline rather than a model specific instruction. The model provided shows the blue wire going to position 2 so it will need to be placed there on the new switch per the manufacturer's wiring.

Jack, with the power cord removed, it would be recommended that the switch wires are tested for continuity to ground. If there is not continuity, then the burner switches DG44-01002A have failed and would need to be replaced.

Den, Yes, it does appear that they have changed the design a little but if you look it will have letters or numbers or combination of letters and numbers that you can use to switch wire for wire.

Catherine for Model Number NE59M4320SS/AA-00

Hello hope you can help. Both my front two elements only work on hot. They can’t reduce the temp. All or nothing. I read your comments and have bought two infinite replacement switches. However, the left switch will only heat the inner ring not the larger area. Have I ordered the wrong part? I replaced the original switches with DG44-01002A. These new switches were smaller in size and I had to adjust the wires from the original because the connectors were slightly different. What have I done wrong? Thanks very much.

Catherine, This unit has 2 dual infinite switches listed through the manufacturer and it is possible that you received the wrong one. The part number that may work for your unit will be DG44-01006B.
